    idle/carb isues

not sure what the deal is with the 89 prelude I just bought aside from it sitting for a year and having "a little trouble idling" the thing is it goes and goes well I just can't take my foot off the gas (even to shift gears) without it conking out. I have no idea what i'm looking at with the carb. i'm not familiar with the dual carb set up. any help on how to adjust it or what else I should look over would be super appreciated

Start with a thorough carb cleaning with a spray type cleaner. An idle speed adjustment couldn't hurt either. I can't say how to do it on yours, but Honda usually makes the idle speed adjustment pretty obvious, like a big, fat, plastic knob sticking out from under the carb or something.

thank you. just had someone come look at my beastie and we discovered it's misfiring on two cylinders so we'll do a compression check later today to see if the valves are dead, if all goes well i'll definitely give the carb a super clean.
