hi, there is the trouble.. the sound from the engine. the sound volume depends on rpms. the sound is like the bad bearing. i disconnect a generator too but the sound doesn't disappear. its seems its the main bearing but it could be waterpump bearing? i moved the water pump tooh-wheel with the screw-driver and it was loose a bit. so, what can u suggest me to do? engine: B20 . thanks

I had a similar problem. Is it a knock sound, if it is and it sounds like a diesel engine and gets faster with rpms thats whats wrong.Time for a rebuild:hs:

you can use a lubricant like wd-40 and spray it on things to see if the noise goes away while the motors running.
All the things you mentioned could be it plus bad bearings in the distributor, altenator.
Might get around to adjusting your valves also.

!!!!damn!!!, but here is another sound again. its from intake camshaft, somewhere near the timing belt. is there any bearing on the camshaft or only seals?
