Okay... I'm getting what I would describe a tapping noise only when I am accelerating. I can only hear it till around 2700rpm due to engine noise or it stops. Could this be my valves?

does it make a knocking noise when you first start it from "cold"?
Not that I can tell. But starting it is a whole other issue. I think my starter is bad or there is a bad connection somewhere. It only knocks or taps when I am pushing the accelerator.
what grade of gas do you use?

Just good old regular. I had thought about that. I'll have to try a higher grade whenever i go empty again. Just filled up last week so it could be a few more weeks before its empty again. I only drive 14 miles a day and i just had my wisdom teeth pulled today so i won't be driving at all this week.Quote:

mine is a 5speed and like i was saying it only does it while driving. If I am sitting at idle and press the gas it doesn't do it. It will be a couple of weeks before I run out of gas.
