Re: School me on lowering
Well 95 is really cheap for a set of springs. If you want a decent ride you will need h&r springs. With these cars you can just put lowering springs and call it a day. But if you go any lower than 1.5 it will not be in factory spec for the alignment. My car is lowered 2 inches with just springs and shocks and the alignment guy said that i am just within spec. Any lower that and it will be out of spec and you will have to get 2nd gen prelude upper controls arms. Those are adjustable and you can adjust the camber then.
Putting in all poly bushings will stiffen up the ride quiet alot.
Re: School me on lowering
I looked at h&r springs website and it says it drops it 1.5" which might be a pretty nice amount. It doesnt seem like itll be a big drop but it just might.
What is a good stiff shock to use with the 1.5" drop springs??
Now I'm off to search for pics of a 1.5" drop on my honda.

Re: School me on lowering
Anybody else can educate a guy?? Maybe will end up with like a 1.5" drop.
Looking for shocks that give a stiff (ish) ride.
Pics perhaps??

Re: School me on lowering
There are not a lot of performance shocks available for the 3Gee. I believe the bilstiens and tokico shocks will work with a 1.5" drop or less. If you really want performance, you need to get some k-sport full body coilovers. I have had the h&r springs with tokicos, and it was a small improvement over factory.
Re: School me on lowering
Can you clarify what you mean by the h&r springs are a small improvement over stock? How did it feel, handle, weight??

Handled a slight bit better in cornering, and felt a little stiffer on bumps. If you are interested in the rates of all the springs for the these cars. Check this thread out.

Re: School me on lowering
Checked out those coilovers and damn are they beautiful!
I didn't realize they were cheap like that. All 4 coilovers for 1300$. I always figured coilovers were way more than that.

Re: School me on lowering

Re: School me on lowering
These are not designed to completely slam the car, but you can go pretty low. If you roll the fender lip, you should be able to fit some pretty fat tires under there. I had 215/50/r16s they never rubbed except just a slight bit on the inner wheel well if I hit a bump will making a u-turn.
Re: School me on lowering
And you had these coilovers with that tire size? Got any pics by chance?
What was the lowest you went with these coilovers?

I had d2s, you can find my thread about those in the how to section. They are just re-branded k-sport coil overs. With extended top hats I'm sure your could go lower.

Re: School me on lowering
One caveat with the K Sports and D2 coilovers is that they are cheap coilovers. Last time I called them, they didn't know what a shock dyno was.

Are there other options for our 3gs for coilovers?

Re: School me on lowering
He has a home brew big brake kit on his car. There are several threads about it if you search around.

There's HotBits...aside from what the others mentioned, I think that's your only other choice.
