is my car slower than it should be

i just checked my spark plugs and thare good and checked the auto tranny fluid and its good and checked the engine oil thats good i checked my air filter a week ago and tryed cleaning it but its still good. than i went for a drive in a parking lot tryed like 4 times to spin/burnout/sqeal my tires and failed to break 'em loose or even to get close to it. tryed D3 and D4 each 2 times it was on a slight incline and the pavement wasnt even that rough ether.

i spent like $1600 on my audio system and thats staying in there

keep your audio in there for the street, but when you goto the track take it out.

i never go to the track simply because there is no tracks around here i dont think there is one in the state of north dakota. my car is a daily driver.

well that's why it take's 15sec's for 0-60 time.
my 86 lx had a 200w pioneer cd reciver, with 4 6x9's
6.5 up front.
and a 560watt amp.
my mod's were exhaust upgrade, cai, advance timing, aftermarket coil, a major tune-up.
the stock 0-60 time was about 12 but after all that it was 0-60 in 10second's.
AND it was a carb.
and i could do burn-out's, how do you go about doing burn-out's?

my car cant burnout. unless i rev it up in nuetrol and put it in drive(dont like doing that),hold the brake in and floor the gas and pop the brake(little burnout) or when it rains(once it spins past 4000 rpm its a hole different car but under 4000 its slow.but if im on dry pavement in d3 or d4 and floor it real fast, no squeel,nothing just takes off slow.

The only way i can peel out when its not raining is if your in reverse and putting it in D and gunning it

pull you ebrake up and then gun it for a burn out. oh well, like other have said your car is an auto 3g from 1986, its not going to be the best and your heavy system doesn't help so i guess you need a tune up. oh yeah, i also notice a big difference in my car when the ac is on and when its not.

ok about a week ago i went out and did four 0-60mph's and i averaged 14 sec flat and my best run was 13.8 sec.
it was about 55 degrees 43% humidity and my car had about an 1/8th tank of gas.
the road was pritty flat and low wind
i used my watch to time it and feel it was acurate
my car shift's at about 5,800-6,000rpm when i have it floored and redlines at 6,300rpm

Don't have to pay any attention to this but...

Neutral dropping is really really hard on your car. Back when I had an auto I broke my CV doing a burnout ($300) and about a month later my tranny exploded when I tried it again (exploded-- a gear went through the case and dented the hood)! That cost 1200 bucks. Probably should have figured out when I broke the CV burnout's were a bad idea in an auto.

update: i found a road that was almost perfectly flat and the temp was like 58 degrees, low wind, had almost an empty tank of gas and went out. i would hold in the brake and the gas peddle at the same time and rev the engine to about 3,000 rpm then floor it and release the brake and push start on the stop watch.
my car goes 0-60 in about 13 sec flat.

iv changed the oil and added fuel injecter cleaner to the gas tank and moddified the stock air intake.

so considering i have an extra 100lbs in the trunk is 13.00 second 0-60 normal for my auto lx-i

ehhh, dude 13 second's is still a little, bad for an lx-i.

yeah, it's a wee bit slow. i mean, my accord does the 1/4 mile in 13. j/k :D seriously though, i would consider investing in some more of the things Kroy had mentioned, especially an intake. but i would just go cold air instead. it'll cost a couple bucks more, but you'll save in gas money, and you'll have lots more power.

i just went out last night and my best out of 2 was an 11.14. i have an auto carb but i also have a weber, header, exhaust and all that. i'd still think yours should be faster but i dont know. i cant do burnouts either, i think you have to have alot of power to just do a real burnout in an auto. all i can do is chirp. and yea deffinatly dont do neutral drops. i used to do them sometimes and now my tranny slips hardcore. good think i got a 5-speed waitin in the garage
