    Which Temp Sensor is Which?

The FI version of the car has two temp sensors right next to each other. From my research, one is a thermal switch for the rad fans, and the other is the TW sensor, for the computer, which is the one that's broken. But which is which and how do I find a new TW sensor that actually fits? Someone has modified mine in the past and now both have the same connector key.

Existing sensors, plus one new one that's supposed a temp sending unit but doesn't have the right keying and only fits one of the holes

Re: Which Temp Sensor is Which?

Thanks! I saw that one in my searching, it seems to have good info. The only problem is that it doesn't match what I have, both of my sensors are keyed like the "cooling fans" sensor in that thread. So if the SU410 TW sensor is keyed like it is in the pic, then I can't plug it into the harness I have.

Maybe my harness has been modified, but the one that looks modified is the one on the left, supposedly the thermal switch for the fans, which works fine.

My pictures are of my car which is a J code 3 door. I cant remember my actually build date it could be late 1987. Its very possible there not all the same year to year as you saw in that other thread.

it seems just the temperature gauge on the dash sensor is the same single wire connector.
