    Whats is this switch for???

What is that switch below the shifter ? it looks like a window switch but has a little picture sort of like an antenna. When i press it either up or down i hear a clicking form behind the driverside steering wheel. Is this for a power antenna , because my antenna isnt powered as far as i know.

Yup, power antenna and 99% of ours are broken. Bitch to replace the mast, too. Welcome to the world of Honda's fine power antennas!!! Just use your hand to raise and lower the mast.

if YOU CAN get the motor out , it's propably just the motor got stuck with all dirt in it ! , all you have a bent antenna wire ! ( does it help if you pull i by hand while pressing the switch ! ?

Mine's not broken, but I keep it cleaned and lubed with teflon dry lubricant. If yours is up a lot you sometimes have to "tweak" on it a bit to make sure it is nice and straight or it will bind.

Of course, I listen to CD's mostly and almost never put mine up so it hasn't gotten used much over the years.

I am like that, too, Mike. My friends and family call it either "anal" or "compulsive."

I like to call it "thorough" or "conscientious."

    What do you think?

AHHH the venerable Honda Pwr. ant.
DBMaster has the right idea Unless the mast is cleaned and lubed once a month (or more) it will fail

ok heres a dumb question, where is the antenna motor located? im assuming its inside the engine compartment, right? i just bought my 3G Accord a week and a 1/2 ago and just realized what that button is for. when I push it, i dont hear any sound at all. Is it easy to get at to replace?

in a very hard to reach place behind the dash... I had to remove the fuse box and most of the wires to get a clear view of it.

Good thing mine still works and I hardly use it. Hopefully I won't be joining you boys in the "busted antenna" club anytime soon.
