ok so i was bored and my AEM intake was very scratched, nicked, and dented. so i decided to repaint it....and well tell me what you think
ok well this is a pic of the materials i used:
oh and i bought a new filter...
CAI Pipe primered
After a few coats of aluminum paint
after the paint dried I put the vinyl decal in place to be painted over
to be continued...........
First coat of red
i skipped a few pics, so this is the 5th coat....hehehe i think i went overboard with the paint lol
I also painted the inside of the pipe, i read in the how to that you should paint the inside as well so i did
Final product
and in the car
looks good. are you just going to clear coat over the sticker or use it as a stencil? i'm guessing if you are painting over it you want it to show silver? looks good.

ok if ya dont know....its an AEM intake off of a 90 civic so thats why it has 3 cuts...here is the CARB sticker i had to take off to paint it

very nice man, i have a polished alumin CAI and i was thinking about taping off a section , cutting out '3GEEZ' then take an sos pad at give it that brushed looked but basicly the same as what you did, again i like it, way to go

dude, you dont know how long it took me to actually take the sticker off because i liked that look. but i already had painted it silver under it so all that work would have gone to hell. but i guess i could have kept it and when i decided i would have just take it off.

yeah i can feel the difference, it sounds better and picks up a lot faster.
Looks Great. I need to get around to putting a CAI on my car one day but the filter on the TB works great also.
