you gotta tell us bro. whats the donor? i assume your taken the rear quarter pannels off to figure out support for the sliders to support the rolling doors. how is going to lock? same way? post up some pics of your diagrams or sketches or whatever. cant tell us all this stuff and then tell us you havent even seriously planned it

    Re: sliding doors

the only bitch i'm seeing in doing sliding doors is having wires running into them. like how are you going to run speakers and the electronics on the doors? i'd say go with the gull wing doors. that'd be tight.

    Re: sliding doors

something like this i'm guessing. but with front doors. i think the gull wing idea is a good one though. not many people do that though because of a crap load of frame work to do.

    Re: sliding doors

I actually know how to do the Gullwing fab when i was tinkering around and designing my CR-Xtream. But i have the idea in my head and actualy scetched it out.
Im thinking he could use the molding as part of the railing along with some braces and a track for the bottom. Im not good on how to explain unless i have something to physicly show.
    But i have the idea.

    Re: sliding doors

well for electronics he'd either have to run the wires all the way to go behind the door, or make the sliders open towards the front fender

    Re: sliding doors

i think the hardest part would be makeing it come out, electronics wont be much of a deal, just have the wires comming out were the door latches onto... if that made sence, post some pictures, maybe make a how-to for it

    Re: sliding doors

cant you just use stock accord doors instead of taking doors from another car? Cant you just take the rollers and other stuff from like a minivan or something? and then just fab it to his door? Seems easier than customizing another door to fit and such. Again, maybe i just dont fully understand it

    Re: sliding doors

I'm a little upset... I've had this idea for a long time... And have acctually done a little bit of work towards it... I haven't said anything about it cause it's something completely new... N I wanted to be the first with it...

A friend of mine is helping me fabricate and what-not... The wiring is really easy... We're running into trouble with how to put the motor in... I want them to be automatic.. like minivans... Just push a button...

Good luck in your planning... If I ever pull it off... I'll definatly show yall.. But till then my plans, sketches and actual pictures are top secret...

    Re: sliding doors

Well shit, if you want sliding doors. Might as well get the tuck-away seats that fold down & lay flat & you can remove. Might as well make it a up-to- date mini-van/ Accord. More power to you, good luck with that. Seems like the 4 door model would have room for the door sliding back & purpose , kind of weird to see this happen.
