your axel boot might be cracked. get a can of elbow grease and spread some on the axel.

Sounds like mabey some thing with your brakes, I'd check them out, mabey bad caliper, bad rotors, or bad pads.....or mabey loose lugs on the wheel........Check them out cuz ya never know....

I'm leaning towards CV joints. If you turn you wheels sharp to one direction at a slower speed (5 mph) & it still "clunk clunks" then that is the CV joints.

    Re: clunk clunk

sounds to me like something is loose.

i'm going to guess that since it's your brake calipers. Are they bolted to the knuckle firmly?

just take your wheel off and make sure everything is tight.

also check your ball joints and cv boot condition while your in there.

WOW there was a lot of "sounds to me" used in this thread. lol

i say check the brakes too. oh my 2000 altima, i had a clunk clunk sound too and i thought they were the control arms rubbing or something but nope turned out to be the brakes. for some reason my caliper and disk were loose on one side. weird i know

    Re: clunk clunk

because the wheel was loose as well. i mean that could have just been tightended but i took off the wheel to make sure nothing else was fucked up. i had a cracked screw from the two that held the disk in. like i said it was a weird situation.
