any tricks to remove the body moldings from the outside?

has anyone found a trick yet to remove the body moldings without having to pull out all the interior panels? I tried a standard panel remover tool, with no luck, getting ready for primer and the last thing i want to do is have to rip my interior apart to remove moldings. the clips expand inside of the panels and you have to squeeze them from the inside. this wil involve a lot of disassembly and electronics removal to access some of those clips.

Use a small flat headed screwdriver. The kind that have a little holder on it to put in your front pocket of a shirt.
First, on the door, take out the screw that is by the door jam where it closes. Then on the next clip, pull the molding out. Use the small headed screwdriver & push on one side of the clip, it should pop out some. Then, on the other side of the clip, push it in with the small screwdriver & the clip should pop out all the way. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it.

You could do what I did and run into a pole, poped the ones on the right side right off

I tried and broke all but 3 of the clips and had to order them from Honda. They're like a buck a piece if you break them.

Yeah there is one or two on each end that bolt thru the car, the rest will slide our horizontally. I normally beak them anyways... so I spread out what is left and hope it holds the molding to the car.

Just tear them off and use adhesive.

the best way to do it is to spend the time to take the door panels off and squeeze the clips from the inside, so you wont break any. i know you asked for the outside but pulling to one side really doesnt work. and using adheasive is just stupid

Not really. Adhesive works fine as long as it's 3m all weather adhesive. It sticks really really well.
