dude...the way you did it....was way too hard. too many steps and too much modification.
what i have noticed is that you guys are all using 3" intakes. look at the difference between 3" and 2..5"

refer to this page for more pics of how i installed my intake....back when i had it
lol.. i was just looking up home depot cai online and people were using pvc and i was thinking the same thing about melting. what is the stock intake made out of then though since it doesnt meltOriginally Posted by mkymonkey
heat rated plastic and rubber
pvc is not heat rated. its made to transfer liquid...not air. plus when have you seen pvc used to transfer any sort of hot liquid? that means that its not heat rated right?![]()
i'm not gonna use it cause i know heated pvc puts off toxic fumes (yum) but i still see quite a few of people using them online
edit: how bout ABS plastic? lol.. actually wikipedia says it's only good up to 140*

ive now tried both the 90-93 teg intakes and 94-97 accord and i must say the teg intake fits much easier. The teg intake was also 2.5" while the accord was 3" and i must say the 2.5" not only is easier to fit in with the battery but i think it will actually be better for flow.
which one is this? its the 6th gen accord one right? cuz imo this one fit better then the one i had. plus since it only really has one bend....feels like it would be better for flow

if you relocate the battery you can use a straight pipe like what struggle bucket did
would 2.25 be better than 2.5 for the pipe diameter?
nm.. saw in the faq that 2.5 is the best
just ordered a u bent pipe from jcwitney![]()
i think mine is 2.5...i dont want to install it tho...too lazy i need a hack saw.Originally Posted by frantik

is that true for all californians?
they wont tow your car, its al BS. trust me, my friend got pulled over in his teggy he has custom header all the way back to a rice can no cat or nothing, a egay intake and a focuz IM(im getting one tooOriginally Posted by MessyHonda88dx
) and the cops pulled him over this weekend for speeding, he was racing. and all the did was give a him a speeding ticket, and a fix it ticket. basically put all stock parts back on. and wont be able to drive it untill he gets all that inspected by some car specialist or something so its

well....the only reason they would take your car over is if they pulled you over with the intent to look under your hood. and yes it is true for all californians. its getting harder and harder to find people that will pass smog for ya with all the modifications. and its not getting cheaper too. smog shops are getting fined every time some guy gets pulled over that has current registration and that specific shop was the one that passed smog for him.
theres people with a lot more modified cars than mine around SJ so i'm not gonna worry bout it too much.
i took it out again including on the freeway and overall even though i lost low end torque i still like the change.. the high end is waaaaay more powerful.. I kept finding myself in a gear lower than i normally would for a specific MPH. Passing at 80 mph was super easy too.
i wish i had a smaller pipe but eventually i'll make a cai from the tube i just ordered but i think i need to upgrade my suspension before i get too much more power cause i felt like i could go a lot faster if the ride was stiffer
2.25 isn't bad... I would like to see air horns though.
they have full curved ones on other sites... this one has a partial curve and a thing in the center because it mounts to carburetors... anyways something like that, then a large filter to go around it.

hey monkey, so is the one i bought off you a 2.5?? if so, SWEET!!! more power. I LIKE! lol. too bad it dont got a carb sticker....
V12 Supercharged Toyota Accord
it used to have a carb stickerlol but it kinda ripped and i had to take it out. dude what you have is a genuine AEM intake for the 91 civic. see (what it used to look like):
see the stickers? and it only came with two clamps so thats why you see one AEM clamp and the others are others i acquired.
ps. it is 2.5

and dammit jcwitney hasnt shipped my tube! what the hell i would have kept looking around town but they said they ship in 24 hrs or less. lies! all lies!
no...those pics are when i installed it. dammit click on my link below so you can see![]()

dude if it still had the carb sticker on it you wouldnt have gotten it for the price you did![]()
I have a weapon r sri, it wasnt reall worth the money, recently i moved the filter from the original spor so it goes right near the battery under the fuse box, there is actually 2 airholes used by the stock system that in theory give some more air to the sri, i could be wrong tho.
how is the air filter angled under the headlight.. does it have to be tilted forward to avoid the wheel well?
i was looking at the tutorial for the jcwitnet tube and to do it the way that one says you gotta relocate the battery so i need to figure out another way.
ok how about i take pics of the setup i have right now so you can mimick it. sound good? i didnt move the battery (though im going to get a batt relocation kit just for weight distribution) much. all i did was remove the tray, move it about an inch or two towards the driver side and redrill new holes. the battery is a lil tilted but thats it. why do you guys have so much trouble with this lol
ill get pics for you tomorrow when its light out and im off or work. sound good?
ps. the one i have now has like two bends in it so it will resemble the jc whitney one pretty good.
