    Ebay horsepower booster

I seen this guy advertising his "horsepower booster" and all it was is a resistor. I guess you plug it into your air temp sensor here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/25HP-...06885707QQrdZ1
get your own at radio shack for less than a buck. There was a guy on there telling you exactly what the resistance was but I guess he saw this guys ad and changed his.
    found it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/89-05...08362347QQrdZ1
YES its a ghetto mod but how else can you get "up to 25 HP" for less than a buck?

    Re: Ebay horsepower booster

    sorry 'bout that
I did the search just now and didn't see anything.
I dont actually know if I could tell the difference if I did do it. All it does anyways is tell your 'puter the air is 71 degrees I think so you get optimum fuel/air ratio
In case the ebay ad comes down the resistance is 2.34 ohms

    Re: Ebay horsepower booster

The way I see it is that at 71 degrees the computer gives you optimum fuel/air ratio and this produces the most power, but on colder days it leans out the fuel to give you a warmer running motor but decreasing the efficiancy to produce that power and vice versa for hotter days. This mod tricks your computer into thinking its 71 degrees all the time. In theory it sounds good but I think any horsepower gain it may give you is minimal at best. It may even decrease your HP in my opinion.

all it does is change the fuel map.......i think. so basically you would just waste fuel. if you want to do it just get a 4g map sensor

the so called "modification" can be done with parts from radioshack my dad did it on his geo metro.. no bullshit either.. it just tricks the air temp sensor into oin somthing thats supposed to add hp. not really sure what it was but we saw no seat of pants power gain... stick with i/h/e ownage

Yeah, I don't see this doing anything to a carbed car. Especially a 1gee Accord.

    Re: Ebay horsepower booster

i know this is late, but i just started lookin at tha 1g shit haha... anyways, those lil resistors dont do anything. my cousin's been lookin for performance parts for his 04 kia rio, and he came across those. THEY DONT WORK AT ALL!!!! we tried every possible way to put it in and it actually made his car accelerate slower. im warning you, IT'S A SCAM, DONT BE FOOLED!!! tha's my two cents haha...

Do a 4th gen Accord MAP sensor mod instead, if you wanna trick your ECU.

    Re: Ebay horsepower booster

There is a guy selling resisters on there for added hp. He's only sold 20, but he always has20 listed? I don't know how he makes money, because he's spending more to list them than he is selling.
