    Engine bay mod

I just did some random stuff in my engine, repainted valve cover, redid SRI and air breather. Woulda done more but i need money for a new trunk lid

Can someone tell me...I just lengthened my SRI and extended the filter to go under the fuse box. I was just wondering if it is helping any since i moved it further from the hot engine, i was also wondering if the hosing i used is hurting it more than helping it since the hosing isnt mendrel bent or w/e. Its like plastic tubing made by spectre performance and its not smooth inside, does that make a diffrence? well heres a pic

well that bend you have ther is going to make it restrictive. So yeah it will be hurting. try shifting the battery to the driver sid to leave enough space for the filter behind the pop up headlight and next to the fusebox, and then run the flexible tube to the hard intake pipe.

    You should have waited.

I posted a long time ago that DELTA makes a saw dust ducting hose that has a very smooth interior lining while the exterior is ribber and allows for flexing. Not too expensive hose, very solid construction 3" diamter and comes in 5' , 10' , even 20' long.

Go to a large hardware store and you'll probably find one in a box, take it out and double check the hose to make sure it's the one with the smooth interior.

It wont cost more then $30

that blue plastic thing reminds me of these toys i had as a kid.. they had exandible plastic tubes that could bend and be connected somehow.. i forget the specifics

but yeah that can't be good for airflow and i dunno if it will handle heat over time :\

injected engines love cold air, so moving the filter away from the hot engine helps with power

    Re: Engine bay mod

yeah i like those too but....i have only owned one and the good ones tend to be expensive.

i was thinking to myself i anyone wants me to buy them one they only cost 14 bucks and it only cost me 5 bucks to ship that one to crazykamper so it would be total of 20 bucks for a good filter. here in oc i have a store that i go to, superautobacs, (only two in ca and the rest are in japan) they have everything and anything you can get for your car. thats where i get my filters from. so....if anyone wants one i can buy it for ya and only charge you the shipping.....its better than buying one on ebay for 40 bucks and then having to pay 15 for ship.
