Re: Knighthawk Black Pearl Paint *New Paint* *Show PIcs* Lots Of Pictures!

I'll get some engine pics up soon, the throttle body did help a bit, but it was also after i already had a cam, I/H/E.

Thanks for all the support guys, This was the only crowd I really wanted to impress.

I got a lip of an integra in my garage I just got to buy some bolts to put it on.

This paint job also has me begging to keep the car and now put some serious $$ into the motor. Considering it has 304 000 kms.

Edit* right, I forgot. The paintjob cost me $2000 canadian, I did lots of body work, but the painter did fiberglass work on the rear wheel well, aligned the new hood and fender because they both had some bends in them from shipping, and thats about it. I got to say thanks to my dad for sure because this was a gift from him (picking up the bill) as a reward for Graduating High School this year and Turning 18 in August. the place I got it done was called u-wrench. www.u-wrench.ca an old guy painted it, his name is keith.

Its reg. a 4 grand paint job he said, but I think because I came in everyday to see how the car was coming along and helped him out when and where I could that he realized how much it meant to me, being my first car.

Props to your dad for giving you that wonderful gift. Tell him on your next birthday you need a new rebuilt engine and transmission. Car would be useless if it still has an old engine in it and it breaks down. Trust me, I know from experience. I put shitload alot of time into my 3gee, put a rebuilt engine in it but kept the old transmission. Now the transmission is giving me problems. Good thing I don't drive this car often.

Is that shop you painted your car at an all-car shop? Meaning they can do all sorts of work besides painting? Ask the old guy if he's good at custom fabricating. Ask him if there is a way he could put a B series or H series engine in your car. He sounds like the type of old-school guys who can put a small-block chevy engine into anything with some custom fabricating....

Its not gloss black, its Honda's Knighthawk Black pearl, look at one of the close up pictures, you'll see the difference, in the sunlight it glimmers the nicest blue, I dont want to talk it up over then what it is but these pics dont do it justice.

yeah nighthawk pearl is freaking nice. thats the color of my 7th gen. the only problem is, just like all other blacks, its hard to keep cleand and scratches and swirl marks are very noticable.

your car looks amazing. i was contemplating on painting mine that color but grey is kinda forgivable. anyway props!

haha, hell ya hash_man SAIT 3Geez meet. We Should park next to eachother so I can trust someone parking around my car. Or I'll just keep parking next to all the skylines and beamers lol b/c they wouldnt want to scratch their paint either.

I use the Turtle WAx Color Cure (found at canadian tire or any other place like it) It's a color polish that comes in black, red, grey, white... etc. Its the polish that my painter recomended. It takes out alot of swirls and its good on scratches. BTW, yes it is super hard to make it look immaculate... but around sunset... It looks perfect, the sunset hides those lil imperfections.

For the cost of the paint/gallon I'm not quite sure but I could try n price it out for you.
