wow that car was in incredible shape! and as the bra thing....i like it. looks cool fromt he front
Thanks, the bra is a double edged sword. Living a place with so much dust especially during the summers when dust storms can trash your ride in a heartbeat I was forever having to pull it and vacuum it - sometimes daily.Originally Posted by mkymonkey
On the other hand, so much construction always ends up hurling boulders at the front end and I do believe the bra has saved it from more than just nicks and chips.
Since adding a clear bra to the TSX I've noticed a tiny dent from where a van kicked up a sheet of plywood and sent it sailing across the front nose and bouncing it into the winshield. Man, when that thing hit us full on cracked the glass at 80mph the wife and I though it was over!
The bra is much thicker and padded so it ends up protecting better, but is a pain in the a$$ keeping it clean.
Sorry I missed your question. When I sold the car it had almost 94K miles. Couldn't believe how the tranny would give it up so early especially after changing the fluids every year?Originally Posted by MessyHonda
I hope your mechanic didn't screw you over with the maintenance of that car. Probably put too little transmission fluid in the car either on purpose cus he's jealous or just plain stupidity, leading to its short lifespan. Plus, Honda cars love Honda fluids....did you use Honda ATF fluid all the time? Anyways, changing the tranny in these cars is really easy. Should've sold it to one of us here, it'd definitely be in good hands!![]()
Did all fluid, filter changes, tune-ups, etc. myself and always used Honda parts! Mostly had the mechanic do more difficult items like turning warped rotors and replacing lower motor mounts, etc.Originally Posted by ICEMAN707
Long story short on the mechanic, independent Honda guy who really knew his stuff, used for many years. After becoming successful, he opened several more stores. Eventually, he moved to other side of town and managed store close to him.
The guy he hired to manage store near me may have been less than completely honest, but can't blame him completeley as final decision was still mine.
Didn't know this site existed until earlier this week after 2ndGenGuy PM'd me at Boompa.
I don't like selling to friends or relatives but if someone shows me they're worthy, promises to take good care of it and give it a good home... you bet I'd give him a shot at it!
damn, that is too bad you had to sell the car. my transmission when i got it had about 68000 miles on it and was already messing up. probably didnt help that i would top 1st and 2nd out a lot. it would chirp 2nd, mind you its automatic. anyway, my trans is still f'ed up but its ayt because i know how to drive it to make it work. lol. i'm probably gonna be putting in a used one though pretty soon.
Keep it HONDA. Or at least Asian.™

I think something about the caliber of nerds on this site is reavealed when we're all going apeshit over a STOCK car.
My poor DX, you will be missed when you're gone
