    turbo manifold idea

I've been looking around the forums for awhile now, cuz i wann go turbo with my prelude (2.0 SI A20a3). Anyway...has anyone ever tried to use a manifold from a different engine (like f22) and cut it where the header flange is...like an inch away and then weld one for an a20 onto it. of course you would have to use a little tubing, cuz the ports don't match. anyway, i was just seeing if that's even possible, or if anyone has even tried. i don't know what manifold would be close enough to try it with.

anyways you might as well make a custom manifold, because you'd what to place the turbo flange specific for your turbo. Mc Mastercarr has all the parts you need, well maybe not the turbo flange and A20 flange, but the tubes it has. If you just lop off the F series flange and weld on the A20 there will be some allignment issues with the outer ports... the inner ports are fine.
And you may have a turbo flange too low or too high or not at the right angle or the bolt spacing is wrong.

There are close f series headers that fit... small mods to the A pipe and the outer primaries and port shapes will give you a usable header.

Thanks guys. i read all the how to's on making your own manifold, but i didn't really like any of the ideas in there. i saw some of your guy's manifolds and it doesn't look that hard, i'm just not sure where to get the pipe. i read it somewhere when i was looking through posts for hours, but i read so many i don't remember where....i'll search again.

thanks...very helpful. 3geez has a lot more info on turbo a20's, and the motor in general than preludepower.
