    Talking Ren0's 50$ paint project!

Came across this in the how-to, seemed reasonable, was preparing for a 2000$ paint job, thinking twice about it so let's see if I can save myself 2000$- $$$ so far = 48$ just started the bumper, will update with more pics soon, prepping the hood as we speak

just by the looks of the bumper painted it looks like it's gonna turn out pretty good. Can't wait to see more when you start on the body.

same question....you should of wetsanded the whole car and got it got good...also did you clean it? cuz paint work stick to dirt...like i said sand it like that the paint would of had something to stick to...or else its all going to flake when you drive it on the freeway.take your time and masks parts off also.

lol I professionally paint houses so I know how paint works, I even use the roller suggested all the time at work for trim and mouldings, I sanded any parts I did and cleaned it with the mineral spirits before painting, and no it is not rough at all, because it is thinned with the spirits all it takes is a light roll afterwards and it self levels, if you look real close it has an apperance of glass, so far i'm loving it, 55$ now because I bought the fiberglass

Seems to be turning out nicely. Are you painting in a parking garage? What do people say when they come to park their cars? What about all that dust and fumes from cars coming in and out? Well, can't wait to see how it looks all done though. Please make sure to take pics out in the sun as well. We wanna see how smooth the finish is.

    Re: Ren0's 50$ paint project!

ya its pretty good, ive lived here for 20 years so people are pretty cool, its a small town house so i know every one, people are coming down at midnight when im fiberglassin asking questions and shit but no complaints so far, and theres no mess or anything, this is all done by roller, the only little bit of mess is from me sanding but no one cares, and i will have outside pics when ive got more done, i took on doing the side mouldings and sanding fiberglass by hand tends to take awhile, lol, speaking of wich im off to get some beer before i start again

I'm not not much on auto body, but know a little bit. Since your shaving the moldings, your going to need some stiff construction paper or plastic scrapers to look at, to get the moldings even when you start to sand the high/low valleys in your bondo work. (since you can't use much of a straight edge on it)
