why? the older ones are actually kinda better. shit the internal amps went down in rms rating this year from last
did they? mine says 16rms and the better models say 18rms....the pionners says 22rms on each channel...i dont like the way pioneer looks tho

Could just be that they are finally getting realistic with there ratings. Unfortionaely there is no certification or governing body on car audio, so vendors can inflate there numbers and no one seems to care. On the other modern hand car speakers are becoming alot more efficient and don't need as much power to sound as loud or as clear.

interesterising. and yeah i agreee new speakers do sound good and are more eficient. i needa get some new front 6.5s cause i have stock ones in their at the moment and they distort if i have them on. not that i ever have them on anyway...rear speakers sound sooo much better
I have an oldschool sony mobile es cdx-c90. Its custom painted black compared to the stock silver to match the dash better. It might not be new but its definately top of the line and i can control my eq/crossover pack, dvd changer, xm tuner, andtv tuner all from the headunit itself.
