yeah, and i was wondering, are there MAJOR fitment issues with it? i've heard they fit work w/the 3g accords and i'd like to know if anyone has this setup to maybe give me a headsup on troubles i might encounter.
thanks,
Moncef

it will fit just fine. since you have 88 you will have to make one connection to the intake. it will have extra stubs but you can plug them in.
Alex.
thanks shepherd, much appreciated.![]()
anyone have an idea of what gains i could expect? claims are 10-15 whp, but i think its bs...i think ill have an improvement in throttle response and sound, but how about low/mid/top end improvements?
you probably see better top end since it has almost no air restrictions.
Alex.

yeah...you will just see a better throttle response, a cooler sound, and an even cooler sound when you turn the car off. lol i'd say maybe 3-7hp at the most
mine does not make a cool sound when i turn it off....well i never checked...since i always have my stereo on.

Yeah I got one of those and the only modification i had to due was run longer tubes to its side. (two hoses and the valve cover hose that had to be cut and T'd off to another part I cant remember but it is on the right side of the intake manifold.
yeah the 86-87 lx-i have some extra sensors on the air cleaner stuff.

okay i got it: it surprised me that i had to take so much plastic stuff apart from the intake system haha. that c-shaped pipe and filter thats way back behind the manifold...me and a couple friends tore it apart and installed the intake last night...it fit well, and the engine feels smoother uptop and whistles and gives a deeper tone in the mid to upper range..ill get pics soon, maybe some video..it sounds real nice. haha...well thanks for all your help messyhonda and monkey and shepherd and MECM. peace yo

short ram... i dont see a big diff in cai and short ram...
the only advantage i see in cai is that when it rains u can clog your filter...

there's reported more torque to be had if you get a 2.5" cai instead of a 3" cai or even more when compared to an sri.Originally Posted by hotdoghogie

yeah i went from a 3" sri to a 2.5" cai and the difference was huge.. with the 3" sri i had to rev to 3k to get any kind of torque at all. the 2.5" cai gave me back the lower end torque while leaving the top end open.there's reported more torque to be had if you get a 2.5" cai instead of a 3" cai or even more when compared to an sri.
still sri is more fun than stock![]()
