As so many have done before me, here is a thread for me to update as the car is altered.
I have posted it before, but a little bit of history on my 1989 Accord LXi Sedan. I purchased the car new in July of 1989, it had 340 miles on it when I drove it off of the dealers lot. The first road trip started the next morning with a trip from Hastings Nebraska where I live to Estes Park Colorado. Now as of June 2007 the car has about 87500 miles. A year ago the car developed an idle problem that I was unable to fix with the end result the car sat in the garage for nearly a year. In Feburary of this year I needed something out of the garage and was looking at the car, it was dirty, had a dead battery, a flat tire and just generally looked sad. I was just about to put it up for sale, but just could not make myself do it. So I decided to fix the car's problems and dress it up with a few improvments.
Here is what the car looked like in about 1998.
Here is what the car looks like now.
And a few pics of things to come. The body kit and spoiler were just taped on so a few pics could be snapped.
I took the last two pics so I could work with colors and paint schemes in Photoshop before actually starting body work on the car. Then I had body work done on me, I had the rotator cuff in my right shoulder fixed on June 20, 2007 and can not even open the garage door to look at the car, much less actually drive it. But as is often said, this too shall pass.
Most of the additions so far this year have been to the A/C system, a security system was added and numerous updates to the audio. Custom trunk work was interupted by surgery too. Here a few teaser pics to show what I have been up to.
A portion of the security system.
Some the base of the false trunk floor. It raises the floor a bit and provides room for wiring under the floor.
The base and mounting board for the amps and misc electrical.
Amps and electronics mounted with wiring and carpet yet to be prettied up.
And finally a shot in through the trunk.
I hate messy wiring (shoulder surgery interupted many things) and what you see in these pics will be tidyed up once my shoulder heals up enough to allow me to finish what I have started. I will update the pics at that time.
I think that this will be where I post most of my updates from now on.
