    Photoshoot 10.8.06

Well I finally LOWERED the car. It took a little more than 5 hours to do, way less than I had anticipated. Its lowered on H&R springs and Tokico shocks. I've got to say, I am lovin' this. It drives real nice now. Handling is excellent and ride quality, although not as smooth as stock, is still liveable. It's almost like a sport-tuned factory suspension setup. Anyways, onto the pictures.

To reiterate what it looked like before....

    And now after the drop....

Wow really nice! I'm glad you decided to lower it. It was bothering me a bit how you had rims and a kit with no lowering. Your 3gee looks superb!

Its still not low enough to compliment that kit, and the overall car IN MY OPINION.

I still give you props for the work you've done to that beast though looks killer!

You just took a great-looking car, and made it look even better! I like that drop, very subtle. That car looks like it was always meant to ride that way.

Of course I'm lazy. If I wanted to work on my car I'd have gotten a DSM

To tell you the truth, it bothered me too. I always thought it was too high, but I never did anything about it and I was thinking about the ride quality, but it still rides great now. I should have done this earlier.

And you have the right to an opinion, so I'm not offended or anything. I actually like criticism. I didnt want to slam it because where I live, there are all kinds of hills and ramps and things. I come seriously close to scraping my driveway right now, and I need to be able to get into it. How else am I supposed to wash/wax my car? lol. Thanks for the response though.

Thank you. That is exactly what I was going for, something subtle. I like the fact that some will think the car isn't lowered, but I know it is. Like I said before, I am LOVING this.

Very very nice, I like it. Could use a little more of a drop, but nothing major.

Funny you say that, because I thought that was the best pic too. I put that as my desktop picture.

Its a 1.5 drop. I recommend the H&R's if you want a 1.5 drop. Definately quality springs.

car looks good. Just trim the front pinch forks like 1/4 -1/2 inch and youll be set on the drop. H& R's are great springs. Good chice on those.

Oh and you might want to try and straighten your front bumper a little its drooping down a little bit.

    Overall excellent very nice.

Dude your car is truely something, there arent words to describe it. Everything just flows so smoothly together like Honda meant for it to be that way. Why cant all of our 3g's have that body kit?

Lookin really good Toneloc.Looks real nice and clean. Yeah the lower you drop it the better the handling. I know what you mean about being lowered with the body kit. I'm lowered 2.25in and I really had to remap my town. I've been lucky so far. Do you have a efi swap planned anytime soon??

Your car looks really good... and really nice pics too.

Personally I would have gone lower, but I had the same suspension setup without a kit and I scraped sometimes too, I can;t imagine being dumped with a kit. I would still do it though haha

    Re: Photoshoot 10.8.06

Mine's really low, I have about 3-4 inches of ground clearance. Luckily I never scraped except the mufflers when I unexpectedly have to go up steep inclines - like pulling into a gas station for example. I always take speed bumps and small inclines at an angle. It's a new habit to form when you have a lowered car, but you get used to it. Dodging potholes or huge cracks is another thing too. Good thing most of FL has good roads.

But damn, with the Konis set to full stiffness, it's like riding on rails! No matter how I twist the car around, it just doesn't budge and is totally glued to the ground. I just love that feeling. Especially when cutting through slow traffic.

I'm going to wait a while for that because I want to see how low the car is when the springs settle. You are right about the H&R's though, they are nice springs.

Ive had to do the same thing. I take some entrances at an angle, or if I think I will scrape I wont take it at all. I also go slower on some of the more serious bumps. As for the efi swap, I don't see that happening anytime soon because this is my dd so I would need another car for me to be able to do that. Whats sad is that there are 5 cars in the house, but all of them are dd's.

Haha. Im not a very daring person. If I still had the old Kaminari kit, I wouldn't have even lowered it, because the front would have already been cracked and scraped up by now.

I lowered it (well me and my dad) on Saturday, and I already see a difference, especially in the back. It also rides smoother than it did Saturday and yesterday. I would love to have an LX-i, but I could never part with my car. Its my baby. And besides your on the other side of the country.

Wow, that is really low. I have about 6.5 inches clearance in the front and 6 on the sides. I'm sure there are underbody pieces that are lower than that though.

Yeah it's real low mainly cus of my bodykit. But not once have I scraped it except like I said, the mufflers, when I tried to pull up an incline to this gas station.....I shoulda just kept going to the next gas station.

i just went from being absolutely diz-umped on some neuspeed race springs back to my h&r's/tokicos. i love how my car rides/handles now too. ride quality was absolute shit before. and it's funny how much easier the wheel gap is to stomach once you've experienced jaw-shattering bumps without it..

your car looks awesome too man. makes me miss my pop-up sunroof from my old accord. nicely done

When I was first thinking about lowering the car, I kept remembering all of the stiff riding cars that I have ridden in. I'm glad that the H&R/Tokico setup is relative soft compared to most lowered car, because I get dizzy after riding in hard-riding cars, like my brothers '03 Si. With this H&R/Tokico setup. you get a mild drop and a mild change in ride quality, so that's why I said it reminds me of a factory sport-tuned suspension. I can say that I love how the car drives and rides now and I should have done this earlier.

I like my pop-up sunroof, but some things about it suck. When its really hot in the summer, I have no shade like moonroofs have so the car gets hot really fast and its harder to cool off. Also, I wish it was easier to remove mine, but other than that, I love it. Its way better than having nothing.

    Update 10.24.06

So I think this is going to be the thread that I use to update pics from now on. I just wanted to show how the car is sitting after 3(?) weeks. I also went to the junkyard looking for an armrest and came back with an LX-i console. I painted that and the part surrounding the e-brake black and cut the back out of the cubby thing so my equalizer would fit.

Also, It turned over 120,000 miles on Sunday!
