While I was browsing through Spoon's Product catalogue I noticed that they are selling small pipe which is called "Direct Airflow Pipe" made out of carbon for around $150 USD lol.
It is not for our car anyway, but it says it will help reducing intake airflow friction at high rpm and lightening the front end by removing the 2.5kg of resonator - that is 19 and 21 in the pic below.
Also, we can remove 28 or 34 for the same reason I believe and I noticed that thegreatdane has done it on his car.
I am wondering what does this resonator do in the intake system - do they change the intake sound dramatically noisy by removing this?(I prefer quiet if the power is the same)
For those guys who have fitted after market CAI has nothing to do with this issue I guess.
I am talking about very tiny peanut improvement while keeping the original plastic intake but just asking this if you can educate me about it as I couldn't find any thread talking about this.
