thanks for your comments guys. ill be doing alot more work to the engine and suspension now that i have a garage![]()
are you going to paint the underside of the dash too?
that the cleanest fuckin hatch i ever seen looks better than most civic hatches dame
Some better pictures would be nice, since they don't do any justice. I would paint the dash in the car, that way you can get high. lol
wow, your bodykit is homemade right? That's awesome...mad props to you, looks better than the ones for sale, lol.
If you carefully coat the kit with some thin vinyl tape all over, not overlapping edges, it will protect your paint underneath. Then coat it in some "Partall" release wax, and spritz it over with some PVA (poly vinyl acetate) that will thin and smoothen the partall release wax.
Mix up enough "Tooling Gelcoat" to cover the whole part abot 1/8" thick. Keep it from running off with a brush until it starts to kick off and harden. Allow it to get to a tacky point, then mix up some poly-ester resin and some 4 0z plain weave fiberglass cloth, and start building it up. You'll need a good 15-2- layers, or until it's about 3/4" thick. You can do this build up in stages, as long as you allow it to cure fully then grind off the surface a bit to allow the next layers to bond properly. This is actually preferred anyway because a one shot buildup can cause alot of heat during the catalyzation of the resins.
Once you have the glass build up on the back for rigidity, cut ou sme 1/2" ply wood supports that will keep the mold from flexing and to make a sort of flat working stand, and epoxy this to the back.
Once done, you should have a very strong, production type mold that you can vacuum bag parts in and have them come out very uniformly and smooth everytime!

thanks guys....sorry if the pics are a little crappy. My good camera doesn't work..so i have to use my friends.
Wow, defiantly one of the hottest hatches ive seen yet! I love your body kit.
I'm liking the wheels and the 2-tone interior.
Congrats again on AOM
thanks. Im pretty much done with the interior except for the dash and a few small rear pieces. i had to order some more paint this time because i bought all the cans they had at 2 local autozones i go too..lol.
if you ever decide to sell hit me up. Ive got a gsr otor waiting to go into it. By far the best looking black hatch Ive seen on here. Everything on it just flows. Not too keen on the 2 tone interior myself but the rest is pimp. Nice
Here are some new pics of the hatch and some new goodies the FedEx chick dropped off
