Well I guess it ended for me a long time ago, but now it's officially over. My 2g has been sent to the junkyard. It'd been sitting in the driveway for 2 years now collecting rust, completely neglected. The last time I'd worked on it I replaced a cracked radiator hose, filled it with straight water to get it going, and kinda forgot about it. Sitting like that for 2 years did a number on the engine, it wouldn't even turn over. The body had rusted into such bad shape (well it already was in bad shape, but it got a lot worse) that it wasn't worth trying to salvage the engine. There isn't going to be a part out so don't ask. The driveway needed to be sealed and I didn't have much time to strip the car down. Things like the teg trans and rear disks are off in a junkyard somewhere, returned from whence they came. The teg trans was having a problem with 3rd anyway and the disks were seized up. As for the suspension, I would have liked to have sold the whiteline swaybars, but I didn't have time to pull them and it wasn't worth the trouble (the fuel tank has to come out to remove the brackets for the rear bar). The hack job coilovers are gone too, they didn't work that well anyway. I did keep the carbs and manifold, since they were worth more then the car, but I am keeping them for a possible future project. The same goes for the cam, msd, and other goodies so don't bother asking about them.
You old schoolers probably noticed that I hadn't been around much anymore, and you new guys probably have no idea who I am. I really hadn't been active for some time before 2geez came into existence, but I when I was offered the moderator position I tried to come back. 2geez was something that I had wanted for a long time. I'd tried a few times to get the mods to add a 2g board to try to consolidate the 2g information that was spread through out 3geez but it never happened. When it finally came it was late for me. I'd gone back to school to get my bachelors and consequently had no free time. My 2g was in sad shape, rusting and neglected. The only thing keeping it from the crusher was it's sentimental value, a piece of an earlier part of my life that I didn't want to let go. Right now I'm still working on said degree and still have no free time. I'm also trying to finish my nova, a project I've been working on for almost 8 years now, which the 2g was originally just a diversion of to vent my frustrations with efi. I hate to leave the community. I've been here for a long time, all the way back to the automotive forums days. But we've grown apart, and without really realizing it I've moved on. So I've come here to say my formal goodbye. I'll still lurk from time to time, my activities will probably be about the same as they have been for the last year or so. I'm glad to see the way the 2g community has grown. When I started out the 2g community practically didn't exist, just a few misfits enduring flames and searching for kindred souls on various honda boards. 3geez accepted us into their community, and even gave us our own. I hope 2geez will continue to grow and everybody will continue to take their 2g further and I hope the contributions I made will continue to be useful.
farewell,
andy
