Is the reverse camera factory? And the stock unit play DVDs? Or is that some JDM feature??

Dont be mad....the TL has VTAK. PLus you can get a nice supercharger for it. Lots of aftermarket for it. The Rl didnt get VTAK until 2005. Doesnt really bother me though cause the SHAWD sucks all the power before it gets to the ground.


Actually the camera is Not stock. I added it on with the help of a video interface unit. (NAvtool) basicly lets the nav screen display video and anytime the car is put into reverse the camera turns on and overides whatever signal is being sent to nav screen at the time. Just like oem.


Oh and the dvd player is not JDM its DRM! lol

I made it. there is supposed to be a gap between the tape deck and the nav screen and with alot of modifying I squeezed in a half din dvd player.

Dude that is unbelievable... I don't know dick about RLs but I would've sworn that was OEM. I don't know if that's a lip kit or anything either but the front fascia looks wicked. Whole car is executed beautifully.

lol I actually only needed to use some plastic epoxy. Basically its just a flat piece of ABS plastic with 2 L shaped pieces epoxied onto both sides so that it would mount up as stock.


thanks hashman, I actually almost gave up in that project because it took alot of work. Especially trying to make that trim piece be perfectly proportional with just a dremel, my unsteady hand, and sandpaper.

in the end I think I achieved my goal which was to make it look as stock as possible.

its funny cause the RL is worth off than the 3rd gen as far as aftermarket. There are NO suspension products for this car or bodykits other than a KAN drop in available in the US.

The lip kit had to come from Japan. I waited for 2 months for it.


its only lowered about 1" in the rear and 1-3/16" in the front. I had to use konis for the 91-95 Legend and machine some lower grooves for the spring perches. There's not many options for lowering the RL here in the states, unless you pay 2k plus for some JIC's shipped in from Japan. I wasn't doing that. Lol plus my back wouldn't agrree with them. In the end the car handles beautifully now with the firmer koni valving and lowering. Just need some poly sway bar bushings and I think suspension will be set. (got camber kits all around too)
