    the anti APC breather filter

Ok I couldn't take looking at these APC breather filters, APC, spectre,Mr gasket, all look the same. So I made my own. I'm going to paint the back side with the threads black, and I have a piece of foam for an element at the moment. I'll get one of those foam lawnmower filters and cut out a round section later, also I'm changing the screws to button head cap screws. the ones on there for now are just to hold it together. I got rid of the metal tube sticking out of the back of the valve cover ,and threaded it for pipe thread instead,so this screws right on to the valve cover.

I think it looks good. The fact that you made it yourself is extra points in my book.
I bet if you painted it flourescent green CAH would like it.

I'd buy one for the air compressor. Gone through several of the plastic ones banging around in the back of the truck. It's 1/4" right?

Re: the anti APC breather filter

I Think I need to make the front cover offset, i can do that monday needs to sit down in there. Oh well,I just wanted to make something that looked different from all the identical breather filters out there.
pardon the leaves. it attracts them.

Re: the anti APC breather filter

the cable wants to hit it, so i can weld on a fitting offset on the edge and offset it i may also move the throttle cable and use the clamp for the choke cable.

    I like it. Good work.
It'd be cool if you could weld some nuts to the backside of the top plate. Then you could just have the bolts in the back and the top/front piece would be smooth

i'll change them to button head cap screws later. these were to put it together to make sure it fits. and cah i already have a fire extinguisher, it's my vaccume bottle remember? as far as the breather element i have a piece of seat foam in there now to see how it fits together, i will get one of those green foam lawnmower filter elements and cut a piece to fit. those can also be washed out.
