custom guages , tach, speedo

i had this idea to clear the guage cluster . so u could put led lights in it with the downloadable white guage faces from the site on here... like pauldesigns r somthin ,over the top . so ud have white guages in the daylight or the whole guage lights up at night instead of just numbers kinda like indiglo guages. from the site on here like pauldesigns r somthin sand it off or paunt thinner.i made them clear likethis . thhen i thhoughht inthe middle of it all i could make thems smoother withh finer sandpaper and put some pic in the back and then put the layout of the guages over them. kinda like in need for speed underfground 2 and dubs. u could get custom guages if it haad been done with smoother sand paper and clear clue it could look goodi just thought of this and haad a couple of ides thet i thoughht may give someone else some ideas

exactly. thats thhe idea i had when i started this project. im gonna get pauls guages costomize the look of em a lil and then put them on the front of these now clear guages and it should all light up at noght from behind , instead of just the numbers lightin up . but in the middle of sanding and stuff i got the idea to put some cool pic behond it and see how that looks . with the numbers and stuff put back on the front.sorry guys i am not too good at explaing things. i just thought maybe someone would like the idea

yeah i just got done customizing and printing off the guages and . im gonna take a couple of pics in a lil while of how they look with my blue leds... .. these are what im using i changed them a little to my likeing . gonna be these with the clear guages behind them with blue leds lighting it all. on photobucket these are the same size rs guages on here i dont know

you know you can load that design actual size and take it to a copy store and they can put it on a transparency. just make sure they do it so the numbers are facing up.

my brothher told me the same thing earlier taats a good idea too . thanks.i may do that later for now im just tryin to see how bad they look with all thhe stuff inside the guage assembly that might block light from certain angles and then i got shaddows r somthin. so well see ill post some pics

sweet. Thats the exact same thing i was doing with mine a while back. Some stuff came up and i lost intrest and never finished it. So im very intrested to see how this comes out.

i have seen these done with either small neons in back of them for lighting or EL wire.. will look more even for lighting then led's

i like the classic look of the gauges just wish i could find a fuel gauge that worked with our sender. then i could do a nice set up with the same theme.
