Mid-Atlantic Meet

If you are a 3gee'r in the mid-atlantic region interested in a simple one day or afternoon meet please post a reply. We can start working some dates and places. There are three of us already interested in this type of meet (barring bad weather) maybe somewhere in the south eastern / south central PA to Baltimore area. We're aiming for something simple just to get the ball rolling, like meeting up for lunch and talking 3geez or any other good ideas that will draw a few 3geez out.

I know there are more people on this forum that live in PA, VA, MD, NJ, or DE. I personally have never been to an organized meet, let alone one with 3geez so I'm excited. Let's get this thing going.

First thing is we need to make a thread so everyone can see. Then we need to decide on a location that would work best for everyone. Further more, if its a park, check to see if reservations need to be made of any sort. make reservations if needed. Then someone near by should drive down there, check out the area, possibly check out areas for lunch and pictures. Thats just a start.

We also need to decide on a general time frame, because that's what matters the most to me. I'm at school/college right now, so if it was planned during the school year, I'd definitely have to schedule things way ahead of time. I know you have school too Russiankid (what's your real name btw?), so planning around that, or making this a late spring/early summer meet would have to be the best option.

What do you think about May? Maybe the second weekend or the weekend after finals?

I think a park location would be great for any number big or small and right now we should plan on that.

...but I have an idea to run by you guys. I don't know if it has been done or tried in the past I didn't search to check, (any input from anyone who has tried this would be great). Once we decide on a general time frame, if get a good response say at least 10 people are pretty much confirmed. I was thinking it would be cool to see if we could meet at a Honda dealership. You know how they have those tent sales and radio stations broadcast live etc. I'm not saying we would be a draw for people but it sure wouldn't hurt the sales pitch, "sure you should buy an Accord, they last forever, look over there" (10 accords lined up) Just a crazy idea that might be better for a later mid-atlantic meet after the ball is rolling, I wanted to put it out there.

Hey if you guys are interested there will be a meet in Morgantown PA. Its a Sonic Drive-In meet and its expected to have 500 people. I most likely won't be in my 3gee but I will be in my BMW. Let me know if you want to go so I can supply details.

i'm interested, what kind of meet is it? I ask cause I don't have much in the way of upgrades, most of it is keep-it-running-grades

This really isn't a meet for tuned cars. Both my cars are stock and I am still going.

I'm in northern West Virginia, about four hours from DC but I'd be down for a Metro area meet. I'm kind of in the middle between DC / VA / NE meets and Ohio stuff so I never get to hang out.

So I'm willing to drive a bit.
