Ok I'm not new to the honda thing. But i don't have a ? Did the 87 accord ever come in a 4 speed? I know the civics did but I'm not sure on the accord. My accord only has 1-4-R and I'm thinking my 5 gear might be gone.

Nope, should be 5.
All 3gs are 5spd (at least in the US, probably worldwide).
Maybe someone switched out your shift knob. You haven't tried shifting into it?
I have tired to shift into it and it seems like there is a gear there but once i let the clutch out it just revs up. So I'm thinking its dosent have a 5th gear.Originally Posted by 2ndGenGuy
yea mine does the same thing......the fifth gear is just missing cause under the hood and in the door it says the car has a five speed transmission

only 4 speed i know of is the auto tranny
i think the person that had it before me blew it. idk but ive had it for like two years and never had a problem with only for gears i could get to 115 and not red line, well not while my clutch was good lol

yeah our 5th gear in these hondas dont last long if it doesnt have oil....i bet if you open up the end of the trans the gear will be all smashed
