what to do with the dead AC dryer

Ok I had a dead AC accumulator, I got rid of the ac anyway, So what to do with it? Well I had built a power steering reservoir out of an aluminum canteen, thats another project,
but I needed a place to put an overflow tank, and now I had a big hole in the inner fender, from the receiver/dryer , i had the dryer taking up space in my garage , so I did this.

top of dyer sawed off, then the desiccant bag and oil thrown away, it's interesting that these dryers appear to be hand tig welded, not machine welded. once the system has been opened, they need to be discarded anyway

a little cleaning up of the can, a gas tank ring with a cap piece, a little more machining, then pressed in, I didn't weld it, due to the fact it's not a return can, and isn't under any pressure, it just collects any overflow from the reservoir, I have a nice chrome smoothie cap that fits this also.

the nice thing is it uses the original bracket, and fits right in the original location, one fitting is from the reservoir tank, one is an emergency vent to prevent pressure buildup.

even if you do, you can get these cans for scrap at the yards, once the system is open, they aren't any good anymore.

Sorry, I'm missing something. What are you using this for? PS overflow? Is that a problem with the canteen?

I'm fixing to saw open my reservoir, pull out the filter and use an inline filter (that I can change) instead.

As always, your work is way beyond awesome.

I don't know how the reservoir i made will act yet, the other piece is basically a surge tank in case it starts spitting out fluid or it overflows. I know on 4th gens i've heard of some of them randomly overflowing the tanks, and it's the same fluid, that stuff is impossible to remove when it gets everywhere, so this time i'm not cleaning up a mess
