    hello and help!

    Hello!
I'm Paulo form Portugal and I miss my honda so much. I can't drive it because the cornering lamp is broken and i can't find a new one because this car wasn't sold here. Maybe you could help me find one... I will post a picture of what it should look like...

I don't know what's going on with the pics... anyway, my honda is european and it's an 85 AC/AD version...

    Re: hello and help!

Are you uploading your pictures to a web host? I'll see if I can dig around here. There is a German website who sells a bunch of Accord lighting parts. Maybe they'll sell the part you need...

Out of stock. As usual. Hmm. Maybe PM Denhonda. He's in England, but pretty sure they have the same lights. Maybe he has spares or knows where to get some.

How does a broken cornering lamp keep you from driving it?

can anyone contact danhonda? I've sent him a pm but he hasn't answered yet...
I've contacted the german site again autoteille-blinker but it's always out of stock (and the lamps are pretty cheap!) I've tried oscaro, but they only sell headlamps, grrrrrrrrrr. It's a shame that car isn't on the streets because of a stupid lamp!

Front or rear? left or right side, have posted it on the most likely GB site to assist. Denhonda is also a member but haven't heard from him for a while.

Also try and contact a fellow Portuguese on this thread

Is this one of those deals where you can wrap it in packaging tape and get a pass or does it have to be perfect?

    Re: hello and help!

Can you Super Glue the pieces back together? Find a different lense at the wrecking yard that is the same shape and glue it to your backing? Buy a piece of clear Plexiglass, heat it up, bend it, trim off the excess and screw it to the body? Buy some USDM headlamps and retro-fit? Etc., etc. It's time to start thinking creatively. Comb the wrecking yards there, you're bound to find something that will work with some duct tape and gumption.

I'd also watch Ebay in different countries. Find someone selling old Honda parts and see if they happen to have a corner lamp lying around.

Can you post a pic of what your broken one currently looks like?

    Re: hello and help!

I'm not inspector gadjet, but your idea sounds cool
I will post some pictures from the rests of the lamp asap.
It's very hard to find parts for this car because it wasn't sold here. There are a few , may 5 or 6 in the whole country. the car was bought in belgium.
There's a russian site with honda parts, but when it shows the picture of the lamp, it doesn't look like accord's corner light but civic one... I will try to find the site and post it here.

    Re: hello and help!

Paolo, introduce yourself on this site, mainly modern Accords but there are some older enthusiasts.

    http://thaoc.ipbfree.com/index.php?act=idx

Go into the dealers sub file, and contact Holdcroft Honda, they might be able to assist. they are about the best Honda dealer in the U.K. If nothing else they might get you a part number, unfortunately my parts book covers only gen2 Accords.

    Re: hello and help!

Paolo, here is my 1983 2g 1600 DX Hondamatic, Japan built, rhd Europe spec, (drivers door slightly open, not bent!)

Is your turn indicator light like mine, with a raised side, like this?

2 assembly no's for the complete corner unit
    RHD
    R/turn 34300-SA5-631
    L/turn 34350-SA5-631

    LHD
    R/turn 34300-SA5-941
    L/turn 34350-SA5-941

The illustration in the book does not show the raised centre section as in a GB spec car.
But check with a Honda dealer against your VIN# as these numbers have been replaced with new number, but will still be on the Honda system. My parts book is dated 1981 for the 2g release.

    Hope this helps. John

    Re: hello and help!

Paulo, all i can suggest is fit apair of USDM ones, or find something similiar and with a minigrinder and superglue make it fit, and keep a close eye on Ebay!
    Cheers. John.

And yes, the red velour interior is a bit spectacular, like a hookers bedroom!
I've deleted the pics, I didn't realise they had become unlocked!!
