short intake filter on A20A4, will add hp??

Hi, I'm thinking on installing a direct short intake filter on my accord 86, will it be useful and will give more hp to the engine?? I'm new on this forum and I have no experience.

well you wont see a huge difference, but youll feel something and it will also sound different. try to use the search feature since this type of question has already been asked, a lot of people dont like tellilng people the same thing over and over. so next time try to search.

you wont see that big of an increase in hp, it will sound VERY loud though, i say, instead of spending 50$ on a k&n filter and having it directly on the tb, just get an ebay cai for the 94 accord (it comes with a crappy filter)... u will prob get more power gains, and later get a nice filter...

True, throttle responce is better.
Get a CAI and you'll be happier with it instead of the short ram

yeah i want to get the CAI from the acura integra 1990-1993...i think i got to move my battery and i just put it in and i dont want to move it.

i didnt move my battery. plus you can make your own. just get a long enough mandrel u bent 2.25" steel tube from jcwhitney and make it. its not hard. here ill look up the damn how to that was posted a while ago.

is a20 carbed or fi eather way it will add some hp nothing reel noticible, besides the sound and look its still a good first upgrade u just have to cut one because they dont make one for our cars, also are u look for short ram or ful cai cause there is a hp dif between the two

i believe a20a4 is the non USDM FI engine for our cars

a20a4 is the non usdm FI engine. only difference is no emmissions.

no CAT required and no oxygen sensors or EGR so could make quite a difference to power output, you could also combine with inlet manifold and throttle body mods too give you bit more oomph and also FPR up the fuel pressure a tiny bit FSE do a power boost valve with adjustable fuel pressure.

you are right, my accord engine is an A20A4 EDM PGM-FI motor with no oxygen and no EGR. I'm planning this week-end to build my own steel tube for the CAI, I only have the filter I got it for 10$. I don't know if I will succeed. will keep you updated.

its not that hard dude...just keep to the how to i posted above. all you need is the mandrel bent pipes from jcwitney and a hack saw. well as well as the couplers . it really is better to make your own because its mostly a straight pipe...which is better for air flow

You don't really move the battery you just turn the battery at and angle so the pipe sqeezes in behind it.

You only use one bolt or two if you have a drill to hold the battery tray to a bolt hole beneath it.
