Geezzzz that civic hood is soooo unique, i want it badly!! And that Accord looks so restorable, just like the Prelude who is about to sink in that sea of mud, please ANYONE, save themmm!!

Anybody know the wheel width on the 76 Accord? All my rims are bent, and I was thinking about picking up those steelies. They are only $30 for the whole set with caps and rings. But I wanna make sure they're the same size. From what I can remember they're 13x4.5? While the 81 has 13x5.
Damnit, that's what I thought. I'm pretty sure the older ones are narrower. Though the older ones have a different style too... so that would also explain the part number. Must keep Googling... :-P
The actual size should be printed on the rim somewhere. It will say like 13x5J. I'm not sure where the rim is supposed measured from, the outside of the lips or the inside? That can probably make at least a half and inch difference... Thanks for your help man!
Those side markers look yummy :p
nice! the junkyard out here has about 5/7 1g hatchs , probably 10 1g civics and i think 2 1g pooludes... couple 2g ludes and a 2g accord hatchie as well
1988 Honda Accord LX-i Coupe 123k miles.
Yes I think the US went to 5" for '79 with the 1751cc engine.... while the rest of us stayed with the old 4.5" design wheels & bearing caps.
Not sure about JDM though.
Might also explain the slightly wider/higher frt wheel arches for '79 too.
Though weirdly I don't think the trim rings look any different.
1g Accord & Civics getting rare in wreckers here now, though Prelude are regulars relatively.
If you like chrome trimmed side indicators at least JDM were relatively flush.

Ok cool. Thanks for the info! I'll stick with the 5" rims then even though 3 of mine are bent. :-/ I'll have to wait until next month and pick up a set of alloys from Japan I guess.
Also, isn't Hazwan crazy? He loves the USDM stuff. Hey Hazwan, do you want those sidemarkers? I can go snag them for you. Then you can have a couple sets to play with when I pick those other ones up from Mike at the meet this weekend.
^^ You should get those humongoid Prelude sidemarkers instead![]()
Wonder how much they'd want for a set of trim rings, I could do with some.
How can cars with so much poential be on a junkyard,I wish they where all mine, they are all rustfree( in comparison with the condition in which they are fund where i live).Do they sell the complete car?, just for curiosity.
I'm not sure what the rules are on buying complete cars from junk yards. There's something that makes the wreckers want to keep the entire car, and I'm not sure why they are so hesitant to sell them. Something about once the car's title is converted to scrap or something... It's not really clear to me...
I want a couple parts off that Prelude there. Could you let us know where this yard is or pm me ? I may be taking a snowboard/ Parts trip up to the NW in Dec.
If this does happen I could be a SoCal to NW back to SoCal courier. I'll post about it b4 i'd go...
It's Nisqually Auto Wrecking in Lacey, WA. Right off of I5, so if you're traveling through it's not off the beaten path.![]()
