    Projector Housing?

    Alright, income tax time.

The really blue headlights you see from vehicles on the highway are projectors correct?

I know they are possible for the 3g (correct me if I'm mistaken).

I just need a simple list.

    -Best housing (size, brand, website..)
-Best bulbs (I want them clearly blue, not a hint of blue.)
-Will I need to do any rewiring? Or is it a simple take out and replace the new housings?

Anything else I need to know would be great.

I'd just like some experience posts, from people who have actually done it.

    Re: Projector Housing?

I plan on doing a conversion to my '87 hatch. The bulb and housing are currently one integrated piece.

I bought these on Amazon. They still haven't come in yet. I'll post some pics when they get here.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

Though I don't plan on using those bulbs since I also ordered this kit.
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ef=oss_product

They have different temps but I read that around 6k is optimal light output.

But if you wanna just change the housings and bulbs is seems that's all you would need to do.

    Re: Projector Housing?

I recommend you get four quality bosch relays, and create a light harness to take the load off of the combination switch, they were factory overloaded from day one, and some of them are discontinued now. the main problem with the combo switch is the contact burns on the low beam side. if you create a harness with four Bosch relays, and four fuses running straight from the battery, like original, you want four fuses and a main fuse, this prevents both high beams or both low beams from going at the same time, this changes the load to nothing but the parking lamps on the switch and signal loads. it also makes your lights brighter due to a shorter path for the current to take

i agree with you ghettoteddy they are shit when you pass a streetlight you cant even see it light up the road and the light aint that bright with the projectors as you can see from the pics and the high beams are even worse they go way to high and dont light up the road...

i think your just better off buying the hellas or autopals headlights you dont need to convert anything with the housing cause its replaceable with the h4 bulbs so it would be better and not do all that wiring and save you money

Hella, Cibie, or even Autopals...if you want real projectors look up Hella DE cateyes...although they arr nearly impossible to find and might cost more than the car. Or make a custom setup but use good glass. Just say no to ebay lights..

Those are fine, just want something I can use my own bulbs in.

Are those going to have a weird light pattern? They say euro style..

Also, what are the options for bulbs with those, how do I pick a compatible one?

h4 most basic and redily availa ble bulb on the market

i have oshram/silvania silverstars and ill tell you what once you get those bad boys in your gona fall in love
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4-Si...#ht_500wt_1182

the cut off pattern is nearly identical to the hella's

the one thing i did that most dont is i upgraded my lights wiring harness so i have direct battery and the lights are just turned on from the switch as normal but they are not powered through the stock harness
that makes a huge difference in brightness

So those silverstars come out blue? Works for me, I use silverstar sealed beams atm and they are nice (just not blue, or as bright as some cars)

    Re: Projector Housing?

you dont really want blue there def gona be a bright white and you will see a huge difference form sealed beam silverstars to h4 in autopal housings

    Re: Projector Housing?

if you want REAL hids, you have to custom make the projector to fit into a houseing, just buying a case made for h4's will not work and will give no cutoff. find some from a newer bmw or TL/TSX and install into houseings, its the only way to really do it for hid's

no i will say you can get nice bulbs that will give the effect for alot less of a price and ease of install, i will second the luminics bulbs, had a set of purples in my girls car for almost a year now and its a great bulb, nice light nice color not bad for under 35 shiped either

on those luminics, which size did you order? I tried using the little finder thing but it only goes back to 1990 on the accords.

H4 bulb but be carefull as they have a few diffrent wattages, i had orderd the 100/90 watt ones on accident when i wanted 50/60's for the civic so i could use the stock wireing harness

the 100/90s would work but you would have to run a new headlight harness like what lost was talking about, since the glass H4 houseings for the accords arnt plastic you have no worries ov melting cases (unlike the worrie i woulda had if i used them on the civic)

if your interested in going the higherpowerd one with a harness let me know asi iwll let this set go for cheep as i have no use for them

How probable is this effect? [spread of light]

It looks ridiculous. My headlamps sort of do the same thing and I hate it.

    Re: Projector Housing?

Autopals and the luminics ultra white 55/60w's sound alright to people?

Apparently ultra blue = illegal, and I already have speeding tickets I don't want to draw more attention..

About the wiring harness, if I wanted 90/100w or w/e they are, the krypton series, what would I need to adjust on the wiring harness and how hard is it?

I'm decent with wiring, it's just annoying to me and I'm afraid of breaking the old Honda wires (if I have to mess with them)
