    New wheels

I picked these up with decent tires. Saturn 15x6 93 S Series. They are dang near if not lighter than my factory 13" LXi rims. 100 from pullapart. Only drawback the hub flange to mount them is about 1/8 thicker than my original wheels. I included a pick of how the lugs looked. In spinning the tbar I got 5 full turns & then torqued to 110lbs\ft. Drives well except for my front left must be getting ready for a new hub or maybe front suspension overhaul. I just dropped oil and she is getting ready to turn over 289k. Here's the picks.

I agree I've already put them up on the bulletin board to try and get my money back. First time I didn't pay for the extra 30 day exchange. ;-(

if the tires are good save the tires, find some rims they will fit, and sell the rims for scrap aluminum. if the tires are new they are worth what you paid for the entire set.

those lugs are over torqued. I think the manual only calls for 78 or 82 ft/lbs. I have to check everytime as my integra is one and the accord is another.

I think they look pretty good. Polish them up and they'll look damn nice and clean. They don't look any weirder than some of the stock Honda wheels.

    Thumbs down Re: New wheels

Holy shit balls my eyeballs are burning! What the heck is up with design? Looks crappy no wonder saturn has no good taste in rims. No offense to you bro even though you want them lighter

I dunno. I kinda like them! The torque spec for the lug nuts is 80 ft-lb, if memory serves. That's the setting I use on my torque wrench and have had many years of driving without the wheels flying off.

1st gen SC2 sawtooth rims, nice!

Those were the lightest rim saturn produced, if I recall correctly, aprox 14-15lbs each, lots of people use them for track/autox as a result.

I like them, they are unique without being distractingly unique.

They might look even better with some paint

    Re: New wheels

Well I swapped them front to back and it rides much better. What should I expect with JY tires. I don't have a clue as to how long they have been sitting and there is some dry rot. I saw on treadepot.com I can get 195x60's for 45 a piece. Currently it has 185x65 and there is plenty of room. btw... what would be the best way to remove clearcoat on the wheels. I tried searching but got an error.

    Re: New wheels

i think they look really similar to the stock LX-i wheels, but with the 15's you have a way better tire selection and (imo) a better ride. As Paul said, those are the Saturn sawblades and they're pretty common in the racing scene due to being dirt cheap and pretty light for readily available oem's.

    i like them.

As 88lxi68 pointed out, the 100lbs is a bit too much. I use to lay on mine and all the overtorqeing does is have the potential to crack/warp the mating surface on the wheel, or spin or stretch the wheel stud. Not laying into you, but I'd keep it around 80-85. 100 is not too bad at all, but I've seen some (and I personally use to) hit it to like 150-200 which is a definite no-no.

    Keep 'em on man.

As for the clearcoat... ...is it really bad and peeling? If not, I'd just leave it and run 'em for now.

    Re: New wheels

Yes, I still have them. The tires are chit though. I'm saving for a new set, since my 13's are dang near bald. The only catch is it seems a lot higher up now. I was looking at 195/60's as a replacement.
