So I took on this lil project with all the wrong tools...angle grinder would've been smart but oh well.
Haven't decided on a color or anything, and the low spots will be filled in (dremel ftl...) but who likes the A Motor? Vote!
I like it!
Your retarded...grind it down

whats the final idea? thats a steel cover right? use lead just like the old body men used to do, all you need is leaded plumbing solder, a propane torch, and some paint sticks to smooth the molten lead, you need acid core solder not rosin core and a good acid core type paste flux. you just use the torch to melt the lead into the gaps, and smooth it with the paddles, char them first, when they are all filled start smoothing. Acid core leaded solder is almost identical to the old body solder, and works fine for most type of steel work such as this.
Its aluminum I believe, but I've been wrong before. The plan is to fill it with body filler. Its supposed to work just fine
I'll vote for "A Motor", but it bugs me that it's not centered under the "H".
it's hard to tell in the picture, put a magnet on it. if it's steel the lead is better, simply because it's going to be subjected to under hood heat, oil, etc over time. bad conditions for plastic filler, it's really easy to do with lead if it's steel, I did my original air cleaner gasps like that, and it didn't take long at all.
im sorry not feeling it at all, to off centerd not to mention no one would understand it except other 3g owners lol
leave it be its fun having things only 3geez members understand

honda valve covers are aluminum. thats why people polish them out. polished steel would rust.
i like the idea of labeling it a motor. just do it and see how you like the finished product.
Low is a Lifestyle, and I'm living the life.
Alright well its now shaved, filled and sanded, just needs some primer and some paint. I'm thinking body color!
cant wait to see it! more people need to have 'custom' valve covers!
Primed: (Sorry its so glossy lookin', took a picture after sanding and rinsing it off)
First step of painting. This is VHT Wrinkle Paint, not the final color. its currently outside curing in the lovely Oklahoma 106 degree weather. No need for an oven here...
