    Re: Elpuma's 88 hatch

UPDATE: I got it street tuned yesterday. Tuner said that my fuel pump isn't keeping up with my setup at WOT. The vid shows the two step and check engine light working as a shift light on a WOT run.

Yea it wants more but i still have stock valve springs and i worry about them. Especially since the head has 425k on it! It was a street tune and he charged $100.

    Re: Elpuma's 88 hatch

i would not rev it that much my car had 160k and i ran it with a pr4 ECU with a 7200 rpm and when i did a compression check my rings gave out on cly 3 with 125psi and the rest at 160. i had the teg gears so i got to redline faster. looks like it pulls hard tho

upgrade the rod bolts/valve sprnigs you can rev to 8 all day. stock rod bolts would scretch out and youll valve float either way youll hear knocking or piston eat valve.

    arp. 38.00 dollars
    bisi valve springs - 130ish i belive.

but seems to me bro you have some rings issue plus vavle stems. you smoking lil bit to much at portland. time to get her done bro. hmu if you need help. im a beast at building engines lol

    Re: Elpuma's 88 hatch

Smoking maybe due to valve seals. Its the old head that has 422,xxx on it with a newer block that had about 150,xxx. Either way this is only temp. Springs and bolts plus a few other goodies are in my future plans for when i build the other block and extra head i have laying around. Those plans are put on hold though until i grad from school and start making some money with my double degree.

Agreed. But remember when do the required things to you'll have no problem . Bearing clearance plus hardware. Anymotor stock won't hold if you keep beating on it. Does not matter if it can redline stock at 8k. It will take a shit one way or another. But doing what I meantion he won't have a problem. An running hasting rings.

    Re: Elpuma's 88 hatch

when I first converted to OBD1 I had a PR4 ecu with the redline at 7200rpm. I would redline my A20 and after 30K the rings on cly 3 could only do 125psi

That's due to ring gap an clocking. Happen to me before. Or else you would of lasted longer.
