    Ignition switch replacement simple question.

I have a simple question I checked the ignition switch with a multimeter by disconnecting the cable and then reconnecting it. My questions is when I now open the driver side door there is a beeping sound. I don't remember that happening before. Is my car suppose to do this without the key in the ignition? Is this beeping sound to let me know that the door isn't close all the way or is something not right? I could have sworn the only beeping I heard was for the seatbelt warning.

It beeps a certain way when you leave the key in the ignition, and another way when you leave the lights on. I think you shorted something out.

Check the two door switches near the door striker plate one may be damaged. You may have to unhook the box until you get it figured out its under the radio.

Oldblueaccord might have been right about the door switch setting that off. I started pushing on it and the beeping stopped.
