Dark_Accord's Update Thread 2

Well I thought I'd Post a overall Opinion of Dark_Accords Car, Since I'm the ONLY member who has seen it in person and Also owning a 3rd Gen that Was in pretty good shape I figure I can render a pretty good opinion.

Engine: B- (Has some Oil Leaks, But there all normal for our cars)

Trans: B- (Car Moves very well, a lot more power then my 86 LX)

Susp: D+ (Needs All Four Struts, Front Upper Control Arms, All Bushings, Tie Rods) (Car Still Rides Fair Considering the work it needs)

Brakes: C- (Front Pads and Rotors Need Replacement, But it still stops when it needs to)

Body: D+ ( We all know about the paint and the bondo and having to uses screws to hold up the bumpers and crap, overall it looks better in person then in pictures. The Front Rad Support is bent as is part of the drivers side front under the fenders)

Interior: C- (Interior is in Fair shape but things like the Front Pass seat leaning back and forth do to missing bolts needs to be fixed, the Pass Side Door Handel, etc..


So Overall, It's not a great car, maybe not even a good car.

But it keeps going, Things like brakes and the Susp need to be addressed prior to anything else on the car.

Since he was up I gave him:

Both Fenders w/ Bolts
Hood Prop with Clip (His old one fell out on the hwy)
3 Pieces of 86-87 Door Trim
Rad Support Cover with Clip to hold Hood Prop
BRAND NEW MUFFLER ( I was planing on saving it for my next car, but yesterday afternoon as he was getting back on a local hwy his fart can fell off, SO I gave him a Brand New Bolt on muffler with rubber hangers and Gasket)

They had to give me a ride up to my place to get the muffler....

cah if you fixed the hood latch,get some of that fiberglass reinforced filler and fill the holes where the hood pins are,it's strong enough to fill those in, just put something on the back side until it sets. make sure you tremove the pins before you fill.

Nice job, the new fenders look good, just get them painted (maybe even spend a few hundred if you can and bring in your whole car to get a new paint job, Can't Maaco or whatever do it for like $300?) Anyway, sorry to hear your fart can fell off, oh well it was cheap! Its a free highway pickup now lol. The new muffler in its place looks nice

i agree the new muffler looks good, just throw on a OEM style tip and sould look perfect

I'd pick it up, but I paid $30 for my Working one with a EQ and the holder, so I'll have to pass.

But PM Frantik, I know he's always wanted one

things that have happend to the 3gee

oil light came on,
engine light came on,
valve cover nuts striped out and poped off and leaked oil all over,
right front speaker stoped working
then the whole radio fried
went thu a huge pudel and water got in the car
the trim around the center heater vents fell off put it back on and it fell off again so i tossed it
it seems the closer and closer it gets to 166600
it will probley die right at 166600 lol

also add to that list that tonight when i opened the glove box to get the stock tape player harness out the latch broke
so lets see

i have duckt tape holding the next items together:
duckt tape holding glove box shut
duckt tape door panal
duckt tape holding the plastic thing under steering wheel up
duckt tape around the tail lights as a seal
duckt tape hood pin hole patchs
duckt tape trim around the side windows

interior as of tonight

all that has happend in the past 12 hours
so

I GAVE UP!! thats it no more updates at all i GAVE UP!!
the car will get driven untel it dies only oil and water and gas will be put in it for now on

Just check the Oil Filter base, it could be leaking from there.

What happened to the Center Air Vents? they were fine last time you posted pics.

When it comes to leaks, check under the car, there could a hole or two in the floorpan? but I'd check door seals first.

I think as I have always said, when you guys can afford it, you should get a new car, but for now as you know your stuck.

and as I said before if you guys are able to come up again at sometime, we'll swap those parts out, I'll still have them Till about Jan-Maybe feb

The Issue is finding a Decent Car, His Family is BROKE and $300 won't buy a car any better then his.

CAH Be sure to remove that new muffler I gave you if you junk the car, I didn't give you a $120 Muffler that I can use on my next car for the JY to get it
