    Re: B-Series + 86 Hatch = this thread..(56K NO WAY)

Hey Legend Master. Im new to this site, let me give you a little background, lol and mock me for being a noob if i screw up. I used to have a 96 gsr, i loved her to death, worked on it everyweekend till she was rite. had to deal with a shitty motor replacement and obd1 and ob2 non complying wiring harness so lots of wiring issues. but ne ways i was in debt up to my eye balls, i could hardly afford to keep her on the road. when the car got stolen and thrashed that was it, once it got out of the body shop i sold it. But now i have my 87 accord hatch and i dont mind it. My accord was the car i settled on because i couldnt find a 85 'rolla i wanted, super hard to find in westren canada. So now i have my accord with the shitty ass 2.0L carb and i dont like it. i miss the days of hearing my vtec kick in feelin the car surge. i thought i would never feel that again untill i can actually afford another integra!! or at least a civic..... ewww. but then the day came that i found 3geez, where i just happened to stumble across you and accord theory. your threads enlightened and inspired me, so much it made me sign up for the 3geez forum. but now i come to the reason why im posting on your thread. its tax season this time of the year, and by a creative tax return im gonna get a rather large sum of money. i have found a gsr motor 95 160,000km and am purchasing it later this week. i have looked and looked for the PRI mounts but cant find ne, so i said screw PRI and their mounts i will go with accords theorys route and build my own, my best buddy is a steel fabricator that builds excavators and we have gone over the pictures A.T. posted and he says itsno problem. the only real hurtle im left staring at is the wiring harness. im alright at repairing electrical, but building a harness now way. what i wanttoknow is how did rywire fuck up so bad, and why couldnt you use the stock harness's from an integra?? also i was reading through most of yours and accord theorys threads and i didnt see if you two ever found a solid solution to the axel problem. so ne response containing some of the information i asked for would be greatly appreciated.

Well first off thanks for actually reading before posting, because you seem to understand all the problem. Since you are running a carbed motor, you could actually pull the entire harness from the Integra and only use the stuff for the engine and discard everything else. You could run this along side factory carb harness since that only controls the auxiliary items. You would have to pull everything from the ECU to the engine, and I do mean EVERYTHING.

P.S. When you said that part about finding my car and leading you to 3geez, that is exactly what happened to me. I saw Oldschool swaps accord and fallowed his link to this forum and here I am now LOL.

EDIT: the only problem Rywire had on my harness was that they dident have a car to mock it up on. THey built the whole harness without a car to do it on. So I give them props for building the hanress.

how come you just didn't just get a LS B18B instead of that B18A block?

you could've did the POOR MAN's R build ( B18B with ITR pistons ) and slapped on a B16A2 head!!

OR...better yet...you could've just went with a B20 block and port and polished head..with ITR cams! and go to www.jenvey.com and get a ITB mani...and fab up your ITB setup!

have you ever heard a B20/ GSR head with an aggressive oversized intake cam and ITBs attached to it run???

    ( woody in pants )

BUT none the less, looking through this site....and remembering when I had a 3rd gen Accord back in my teen years....sliding through this site...and stumbling across your hatch...made me TOO..sign up here.... EVEN THOUGH... I drive a CB7 ( 4th gen )...I still have EQUAL love for both Chassis ( CA and CB )

Im CURRENTLY in the market to buying a CLEAN CA accord...but my luck is awkward for some reason.. LOL

but its true what ( CoWBoY993 ) said...your hatch is what you call a Milestone to the 3rd gens!

me being an experienced wrencher....I have NEVER had the pleasure of swapping a 3rd gen...at age 27...kind of late....Im getting around to finally having the chance on doing so....I have swapped so many other Hondas...( civics...4th gen and 5th gen accords...Preludes...and here and there H22s into CRXs ...and LS/VTEC hybrids into Tegs and Hatches ) Im delighted ...I finally get to SLOW down...get a 3rd gen...and swap something similar into a CA chassis that I have swapped into many other Hondas!

what Im currently reseaching....in swapping a K24/ K20 redtop head into a 4th gen accord ...INSTEAD of the "NORM" H22 into a CB7...I want to be different...I will rebuild the H22 that I have now....and maybe sell it..or ATTEMPT to install it into a CA accord...and then work on doing the K hybrid.

Your Hatch brings wonder and curiosity to many that are just browsing through this lovely 3rd gen site!

I give you GOLDEN thumbs up for nice swappage!

Legend i know this is two years late but i wanted to get a clear answer about the passenger side A20 axle. Are you saying the axle would not fit in the Differential? or it to long to fit between the tranny and the hub? This is why i am asking you i have a 93 integra GS tranny (YS1) and i tried the passenger side A20 axle in it and it fits perfect in to the YS1 tranny. I will post pics latter but get back to me on this.
    LX-R coming soon Here's a hint. 89mm stroke/ 41.60cc head /ARP head & main stud's /SRP piston's 81.5mm 9:5:1/Crower Rod's & more to come

it was the over all length of the axle, I couldent even get the axle into the hub and transmission at the same time.
