Cut car on, engine light comes on, check ECU under drivers seat for blinking light, count how many blinks after the pause and either remember these codes https://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=185 or print them out and this will tell you your problem........

Sorry for a dumb question but does anyone have a pic of what the ECU looks like. Unfortunetly my cheap manual doesn't even talk about it. But it came with the car so oh well. Thanks.

I don't have a pict but I will try to help you locate it start by pulling on the handle to make your drivers seat tilt forward. Then look under the back you shold see a plastic flap that can be flipped down when you do that you will see an led that is what will blink.

Sorry, can't help you there but if you look under your drivers seat with a flashlight, it will be plastic that's shaped like a box with a little flap that you can open to see the bulb that flashes if you have the check engine light come on............

Ahh ok actually under the drivers seat. Gotcha now. Wasn't sure if you had meant under the steering column or not. Gotcha now. Going to check when I get a break from work.
