If you had a pull-a-part in Fla, it would cost you only $193.00 for a transmission with guarantee, A whole rack and pinioin with outer tie rods intact, and four control arm assy.. Sick ain't it?

lol even on the street i have plenty of room to do a tranny swap lol (ive done it before x2)
hell i did a full car swap on the street lol
still even thin if its the room mates compliant about you working on your car thats kinda messed up bu ti see were your going with the money saving thing
but if you dont have insurance and you happen to get into an accident your liable for the full amount so i would not go as far as not having insurance
they still work i nthe rain.. it will suck but it will work, i work outside so if it rains ima be in the rian anyways so getting wet going to work wont be much of a big deal...
its hard to explain the money problem im haveing.. if i keep the accord and get it running for say 5-600 then ima still be paying insurence and higher gas etc... or pay 600 and then cut some bills from my budget...i also forgot to list the blown stearing rack wich has very bad play in it.. and on the note of the window reg.. i have the entire window system unpluged from the car and i still get the power drain.. its something with the electrical system on the seatbelts... im haveing a hard time finding the layout for the wirieng on it and how to test them... theres other things rong with the car aswell that tick me off....
long story short... i work at walmart... i must have atleast a grand saved by the end of october for an apartment... as my current place will no longer be available.. i have nothing saved for that becuse i keep dumping money into the accord i dumped almost 300 into the accord less then a week before the trans messed up.. i really do want to fix the accord.. but i really think parking it is the best thing or even selling it and looking for another accord or another type of vehicle in better condition
**edit**
no insurence on a moped.. lol if anyone gets in a crash ima be the one hurt lol.. and its not just the street or my "roomates" its the owners of the house.. like i said its hard to explain my liveing conditions
My brother just turned 16 and has made probably $250 buying and selling stuff on ebay. He'd buy a lot of something, then sell it individually. He started out by selling something that he had gotten on clearance at Wal-mart, lol.
Hell, you have an employee discount, right? Does that apply to clearance items? Buy items that are on clearance and then put them on ebay. Start small and work your way up. Supplement this with junkyarding, and you can have $1000 in your pocket pretty quickly.
i was actully doing this up in idaho... selling skate parts... i even had a myspace i ran it threw
www.myspace.com/tonicskateshop
it worked in idaho but theres alot of shops were im at now... i dunno i could try but i still need a ride right now
you can wait tables for a couple of months, the tips add up real quick
It is pretty obivious you hate the car for it's little faults. You obviousley have plenty of support here for getting it squared away.
But you say your circumstances wont let you even look under neath the car like you are doing something to it ! You already regret putting a dime into it !
I guess you're right, just cut your "losses" and regroup again. Get a moped, a raincoat and go to wally world and get wet some more.
good luck to ya
how far is your commute the bus would cost less then a moped
no one to carpool with
little faults?? a messed up trans, a blown stearing rack, bad electrical...its not its small faults its the fact that im sick of the car being broken.. yes i can spend the money to fix it.. but sadly the moped will allow me to recoop afterwards to resave money... this is my second accord and my old one never gave me this much hell...
and on the waiting tables thats a no go.. my gf works/worked 2 jobs and one was at benigains lol there goes that.. she is looking for a new 2nd job and no resteraunt is really wanting people due to people arnt eating out as much as they used to... a classic thing of supply and demand
I see how you feel man. I don't blame you, if I didn't have money to fix my newly acquired BMW I would give up. It needs front end work(tie rods, control arms, bushings), trans needs fluid and filter, other small gaskets and such, tires. Lots of parts, time and money, but its worth it in the end.
Park the Accord for now and get a Moped. If for some reason you still do not have enough cash at the end of the month, you have the Accord to sell. You may not get a lot for it, but its something.
If you make a trip up my way and bring your car, well go get you a tranny and whatever else you need from pullapart and we can swap the tranny in less than 5 hours. :)
I already have a trans here. The trans isn't the main problem here.
Have you ever poured everything you make into a relationship just to find out that you're being used to buy him/her nice things? Same kind of deal here. He's been putting a great deal of money into a car that wasn't really all that it was cracked up to be. He doesn't have the money now to fix all of the issues the car has. His best option right now is to sell the car and buy a bike. He can honestly find a better car for the amount of money he's going to put into this one to make it even 80% again. He has to buy all of his parts, unlike some of us that have parts cars available. I've offered my help and even most of the parts needed to fix his car, but he doesn't feel safe in the car until it gets a LOT of suspension work done. You don't buy ball joints in a junkyard for a reason. But right now, I can say I've seen junkyard cars in better mechanical condition, going on his account of the suspension.
Personally, I've parked 2 running 3geez myself under the same circumstances. It happens. You buy a car that isn't as good as you thought, and you lose faith in your decision making for a while. That's what's happened here. He wants to go back to the basics.
I also understand the condition he works in. I did lawn care for a while with my dad. This is Florida. You're going to get wet if you go outside for most of the summer. He works outside, so if it's raining on the way to work, it's going to be raining when he gets there.
If I had the money, I would have bought the car from him when he offered it to me. I'm getting married this Friday, so I can't afford it. I have most of the parts needed to get the car back together, and I have the time, ability, tools, and space to do the work. He only has the ability part on his side right now. As I understand, tools are limited to him as well.
If I had a tow dolly, I would have towed the car up here. Hell, I wouldn't be against changing the trans in a parking lot, but I don't have the ability to tow, he obviously doesn't, most of the people we know lack the equipment to tow, and renting is out of our budgets.
The biggest thing that would help out right now would be for someone to buy his car so that he can move on.
sadly im now thinking of fixing it.. im so wishy washy on the damn thing... i still have to find a place to work on it and tow it... but so far i think i should be able to keep it under 500.. i dunno what ima do sadly...
talk to vanilla he's already offered to help, sometimes having a buddy to help work on a car makes it a lot less frustrating. if you get the car back to where it's supposed to be,you might like it more,it probably seems really really slow because of the suspension and steering being so far out.that will tax a lot of your power, because you are wasting it pushing the tires in the wrong direction.
Sky has a wedding comeing up...this isnt exactly a good time to be towing a broken car there when he has such a large event comeing ... not to mention the price of towing it out there would blow...even renting a tow dolly wouldnt work due to no one haveing a truck that i know... a buddy at work is giveing me a $250 loan.. so that will help towards my 500 goal.. i dunno i have to see whats going on..
Yeah, my schedule is booked for the next two weeks or so.
ok here we go, i have gotten a loan and some money together and will have 500 to fix this...
i also have gotten the people i rent from to let me use there carport BUT the car can only be in there for a week or less (wich is hard becuse i only get 2 days off a week)
soo i need to find some parts..
transmition (if thats the problem) if not then
clutch
flywheel
full suspention parts,
stearing rack and pinon
fluids
etc trying to keep it under 500
i will update in a few
didn't vanilla sky say he had a tranny ?
it needs to be pulled from a parts car.. he is going ot be really busy for the next few weeks... plus i think its from a carbed.. i might look into local parts i even think theres a si lude (87) at the junkyard with 5 speed but i need to find the cheepest way.. i will see
