Pfft. I'd much rather have a hatch than a coupe! They're so much lighter.

I have a feeling i'm going to love that car.. It has so much potential.

I'm going to love the 3gee more, but i have to let her go, heh..

Also the aftermarket on the eg is insane. But whatev, it's one of the lightest civic hatches ever made.. Lighter than the EK/EJ that i was thinking it was..
Alas, no more 3gee. She was a wonderful car and will be missed..

No more 92 hatch either! I go through cars too much.

    I know about lightness.

My buddies EG/EH2 CX (gutted)hatch with a D16Z6 swap, could keep up with my B16EG/EJ1 EX coupe....Then I gutted the coupe for track day. Hahaha.

Even he admitted, "Your is like a Cadillac compared to mine. It's those little difference that nag at you, like all my buttons did something, his were just plates. My brakes filled up the Del Sol wheels I had completely. He had them for a while, and even they dwarfed his brakes.

Think about all this other little stuff, other than the weight for a second:

CX/DX have tiny brakes. Even 14's make them look little.
CX/DX in white, will have a blue dash/interior.
It will not have swaybar mounting points.
Nothing will be wired up, except tach, which you still need from an EX.
Even if you stay SOHC, and do a VTEC head, you will STILL need to replace the transmission. DX is long, and CX super long, and will top out 120+ in only 3rd gear. Still needs a Z6/Y8 tranny.

Look on honda-tech....hell, by the time they've finished they're EG hatches, they've put a whole EX coupe into it. Black dash, tach cluster, power doors, brakes, ect. I'm just opening your eyes, in the Civic world.

You can't argue with people when they want something, they're not going to change their mind.

He wants a hatch, and he's going to get one, and no matter how logical your arguments are, it doesn't matter. As they say, hindsight is 20/20.

Re: So, i may be another civic owner..

I'm fully aware of what i need to do to get the car running kinda quick..

I plan to do a five speed swap, because its an automatic, and chances are i'll go EX tranny anyway.

All in all this should be a fun car. I love the way the car handles.. And the car is faster than my lx already.

I'm looking forward to getting some suspension on this sucker and testing it out up in the canyons... Because it should handle real nice.

Re: So, i may be another civic owner..

Well, the car is definitely getting sold, and im getting the civic. I have a buyer already that wants to buy it this saturday, and i just took my suspension off and put the stock stuff back on.. I have a few more non-stock things to take off the car still before i get rid of it..

Sigh. Oh well, everyone moves on from their first car... Haha..

I still have a maroon armrest up for sale if anyone wants it.. Check my thread in the market place... I'm not going to charge up the ass for it either.

Well the car is officially sold. Check for $2,229.. I still have the car in my posession, have to put a cat on it and get it smogged, but after that, i'll be getting the civic. I should probably be sporting my new civic by wednesday.

I love my 3gee.. But it has to go.

It's a hard decision to make, I know. But there is life after 3G. Believe this! Accept Honda as your personal Lord and Savior, and you shall know true happiness, no matter what kind of Honda you end up with.

Also keep in mind, doing a auto to manual swap on the 92-up Civics isn't as easy as cars with cable trannies like the 3gee. It's hydraulic, so you have to swap in all the hydro lines, clutch fluid reservoir, master and slave cylinders, as well as manual pedal assembly, shift rods, shifter, and 5 spd ecu.

Re: So, i may be another civic owner..

Yeah, i'm thinking about swapping in a pre-92 si tranny, that way i can just go cable.. But i've heard that hydraulic is usually better on the tranny... Is this true?

And now, for a few pics of my car as she was before i made her stock again (these are my fav pics):

Re: So, i may be another civic owner..

Okay, so after hustling to get the car ready and all the parts off of her, and putting on a new cat, she failed emissions horribly. CO and the other one were perfectly fine, but the NOx was at 3000 something when the max is 817..

So my friend and i are pissed because we were sure the car was going to pass, but it didn't. The car was running really hot (under the hood, and you can tell by the NOx) and we werent sure why. Well, my friend had one of his honda techs look at it and it turns out the cam timing was 41 DEGREES OFF.

How the HELL does that happen, you ask? I have no clue. All i know is the tech said that my "black box" had been messed with and a few vacuum hoses were hooked up wrong, and i guess timing is vacuum controlled so those hoses set the timing way off.. But now the car is running perfect, no more knocks, all the car needs is a good carb adjustment and she should pass smog tomorrow morning... The car is out of my posession as of earlier tonight and i pick up my "new" 92 civic tomorrow...

I'll be sure to post pics up for you guys, even though you'll probably scoff at me.

Your 3g was such a good looking car. Take pics of it as it is now before you sell it. I'd like to see it. Where did all of your mods (wheels, suspension, intake) go?

Re: So, i may be another civic owner..

The suspension went to a friend of mine for a really good deal (1320boy, you can see his kickass hatch in the hatch pics thread), he's borrowing my rims for a little while until i decide to put them on the civic, the maroon armrest is still for sale in the market place, the cupholders went to Mr. Vos in the netherlands.. And my civic box is still at my house, but i refuse to sell it to anyone because the hole i cut in the bottom is really oblong and doesnt seal right on the carburetor.. The plug wires i had broke. And the exhaust stayed on the car. Haha.

And here's two pics from a few days ago:

And she's officially gone now. I have the civic in my hands today.. Man, i'm in love with this car. It has a good amount of power and the stock suspension is still really awesome, and i took it for a spin in the canyon over here and she handles just as good as my accord did with the suspension.. And its stock!

But i do miss my car alot. Seeing her for the last time today was really sad.
