Well, my valve cover was looking rather shabby (peeling paint, corrosion, etc) so I decided to paint it. For a second I was going to paint it red but then I quickly remembered that I'm not a ricer. Eventually I decided on gunmetal gray, hammerite gunmetal gray to be exact. The first step was to clean it, and since I don't do anything half-assed I went to a friends place and sand blasted that bitch. After that I soaked it in my parts washer to loosen any sand that may have encrusted itself inside. Then I blew it out with compressed air and masked it off:
Since I was fresh out of zinc chromate I bought a can of adhesion promoter, after a few coats of that and then it was on to the paint. What you see below is the finished product:

It's been about 4 months since then and it still looks as good as the day I painted it. I give it a 10 out of 10![]()
