did you pick blue color or they picked it?
it would look a lot better if it was all black.
i like to see hot it will stand up to a heat. I know dcsport powder coated headers can't handle the heat.

it's not a powder coat. it's still ceramic. huge difference in heat tolerance. let's just say they use the same ovens to cure ceramic coats as they do to burn off old powder coat jobs.

    wait

can you please measure the distance from the bend in the pipe (the bend that takes it under the oil pan) to the flange that bolts to the cat.

    thanks.

I really need to finish my Megan Racing Header.
I don't have my car to test fit any more so I just need some idea how much room I have to work with.

    first bend or second?

edit: approximately 20 inches from second, 30 inches from first.

The bend under by the base of the radiator that turns under the oil pan.

What do you mean by first second?

Or are you measuring from the 2-1 merge?

    Thanks

yeah, i was measuring from the two bends after the 2-1 merge. but here goes the radiator base bend to cat flange measurement: ~42"

    Re: FINALLY GOT HEADER! lol

well, after my 1st post of this thread i started. got the old manifold and down pipe out real easy. replaced all but one exhaust stud because one broke off in the head. exactly flush with the head too, so i'm going to have to take care of that when i can. but here's some pix. still have the put in the down pipe. but i'm taking a break right now. could have got it done sooner but i had to go to school earlier while i was still working on it. looks a bit dirty in the picture, but i'm going to clean it off before i start it.

Thats fine, I just need it to be close, next I need a big cat or round muffler to slip fit onto the end of the pipe, but still able to fit inside the area provided for the stock cat.

EWE, did you not clean up first when you went to install the header?

You could have bought some gloves too.

Oh well, too excited I guess.

    Re: FINALLY GOT HEADER! lol

well, finished installing the header. seems like its always the little things that are the biggest problems. take for instance there are two bungs for O2 sensors, i only have one. upon starting it sounded like a motorcycle, lol. so tomorrow i'll need to go get another O2 sensor or find a plug the same size, but i didnt have luck at the places i went today. i thought about welding the bungs closed, there are 4. two O2 bungs and two emissions related ones. ones for the thingy that sits right behind the valve cover and the others for the EGR. anyways, stepped on my tube of anti seize, tracked that shit all in the house. luckyly i noticed and cleaned it up right away. i just hope this damn header works out. like i hope that the excessive noise was just the open O2 bung. i checked for areas of black carbon being blown out and that was the only spot. so anyways, its in and i'm worn the hell out. more installed pix to come, like tomorrow. i got thursday and friday off so i will probably get some things done. i ought to spray down the engine with degreaser, i meant to do that before, but only did the engine bay, not the engine itself.

oh and yes i was very excited. shouldnt have rushed it but thats what happens i guess.
