I think the paint looks slightly darker. Its not very noticeable, but it really bothers me.

What puzzled me is, the paint 100% matches the fuel lid, where I simply put a layer of clear on it. Either the clear is slightly darker, or the paint isn't fully cured yet? Anyone has any idea??
Nobody will notice but you.. lol
Some pigments are photereactive and maybe it will lighen up once it cures good. You could try color sanding (1200 or Ult Fine grit wet) it, in about a week or two, down the whole side. Then clear coat the whole side.

If the blend area was nice and tapered, that should help. BUT. I have seem some silver and gunmetal shades get worse after that.

Thanks. Not the perfect work, but at least better than what most average shop would do.

Actually the color seems to be lighter now, I don't know if my eyes is playing with me, but everyone I asked said the color is 100% matching now. Even my dad said its slightly darker yesterday. I guess yes, the color will be lighter as it cures.

Okay the whole panel is buffed out, and I still can tell the difference between the old paint and the new. Can anyone tell from this pics? Not the best camera, but that probably the closest I can get in real life.

I'm guessing the clear is what effecting the color since the fuel filler lid is only cleared on once, no color at all, and its perfectly matching the quarter.

I really hope the color will go lighter as the time goes, or else I might redo the whole side. Damn, I'm a picky bastard lol

I still need to replace the black bumper cover and the side trim.

I CAN tell, but honestly its not as bad as I've seen. Some cars come from the factory with paint that is slightly darker on the bumpers than on the metal panels. I wouldn't worry about it.

in my opinion you did a better job than they did with my friends car when they took it to the body shop....they did no blend it in well...at least yours does not look bad.
