Nah tranny's still slipping. That's what I get for downshifting to 3rd all the time trying to pass cars...lol. I guess the auto in these cars are pretty delicate.Originally Posted by guaynabo89

damn i just love that car, i find the color choice has just topped it off perfectly. the bodykit looks good without it looking like ass, the lines are perfect, im glad u didnt put on a 4th gen bumper, they just look to round on the 3gee. also love the way how the bumper replaced the grill, never thought that that would look good on a 3gee, but on yours its just soooooooo fine!!! even the wheels are nice! <3 your car! you got some good art skills too
that 2nd and 3rd one is pretty damn wide but ugly :S if it had a bumper to make up for that it'll be cool
that first one reminds me of those pimped out toyota hiaces lol... didnt notice it was all 1 pic
i wonder how he opens the boot on that :S oh wait wait sorry, the "trunk"![]()

i guess some people have just been watching too many buck rodgers back in the day...lol
i think the blue spaceship 49-53 seconds into this video might have been once a 3gee coupe:![]()

definitely an awesome head-turner.
3geez for life.
hopefully the new redesign drawing i'll be making will be more appealing. i plan on cleaning up some of the lines to make it look like the car came that way, instead of looking like it has a kit on it. my goal for the look of the car is clean and barely recognizable as a 3gee.Originally Posted by 88accordhb

thanks everybody. i'm glad i could inspire people who have the same desires and interests as me. to me, a car is just a shell. it can be made into a real nice car your heart desires that your budget and your ability will allow. if the outer body and unibody chassis are good, it is a good foundation to build off of.
i particularly like hondas since alot of the parts between their cars are either interchangeable or can be modified to fit and work well. another good thing is even if you take an old honda like this, it's still reliable enough to get you moving while you are in a budget building that dream powerplant of yours that someday you would swap in. if properly maintained like a car should, it lasts a lifetime whether or not you achieve that dream of getting that honda sooped up like you wanted.
i'd rather take an old car in good condition and build it like i want than get a new car and be stuck with payments and higher insurance rates and never have enough extra cash to modify it. and if you do happen to have extra money to modify a new car and do so, you void your warranty. by the time you pay it off, you are sick of the car already cus it's been in stock form for the past 5-6 yrs it took to pay it off. to that, i say no thanks. i take great gratification in building something with my own hands that can be truly unique looking to turn heads and can someday blow doors off most newer cars on the road. if i don't happen to get it done, i'll just pass it on to my future kid who can someday can...provided this car never gets wrecked (*crosses fingers*)![]()

I cosign this powerful statement.....i'd rather take an old car in good condition and build it like i want than get a new car and be stuck with payments and higher insurance rates and never have enough extra cash to modify it.
never get enough of seeing that 3G, props man

Jigga, your car is very nice as well. It's come a long way since the chrome wheels you had on there before. Now it looks much better.
At first I was going for the clean look like yours. But back then, some people were naysaying about being able to get a bodykit to fit. So I took it upon myself to prove them otherwise. That was my motivation...other than the fact that I wanted to change the looks of this car to be indistinguishable as a 3gee.
Anyway, if I were you, I would've shaved those lines on the bumpers - to match the shaved side moldings....since your bumpers are completely painted. You know, the indented lines that originally separated the upper black parts of the bumpers from the painted bottom parts.
You got the suspension problem worked out yet? After that, a swap is all you need. Get the a/c and power steering working, get the interior reupholstered and that thing is better than getting a new car. Unless you are building a race car, a/c and power steering is a definite for daily driver IMO. That's what I'm going for with my 3gee...especially with the FL heat. If you build a much more powerful swapped engine, p/s and a/c shouldn't be a strain on power output especially if you put on aftermarket underdrive pulleys.
Power steering also makes steering effortless with heavier 18" wheels. My Civic has no p/s and when I put those same 18" wheels on my Civic, I felt the steering wheel twitch with every bump on the road! Alignment was perfect on the Civic so that wasn't it. You also gotta use both hands to wrestle the steering wheel when trying to park.....try doing that with a smaller aftermarket steering wheel like MoMo and such....it's no fun. After that, I immediately put back the Civic's 14" wheels...LOL. I got new 16" wheels for my Civic that I posted awhile back, and I'm hoping these aren't too bad since they are much more lighter than the 18's on the 3gee.
Props to the work on your car man! Keep it up!![]()

Some new design sketches. Instead of having the bottom flared out like how it is now, I plan on tucking the bottom in for a cleaner look with a new custom sideskirt, rear bumper, and reworked front. See if you guys can spot the changes. Also the side scoops are gone for a smooth look.

Damn, stupid Car-Doh!-Maing is messed up again. I hope they didn't lose all my pics. My site doesn't seem to be working....
Oh well, here are the same sketches again off of my MySpace site:
CHANGES:
-middle piece added to grill to hide hood latch
-reworked front bumper
-projector headlights
-new design tucked-in sideskirts and new flush mounted rear bumper; removed side air scoops
-custom deck lip spoiler w/ LED brakelight
-fuba antenna
-custom taillights
-rear fender flares extended up to taillights; gas cap removed and relocated/hidden inside trunk
-mufflers moved to middle 'a la c5/c6 corvette style
-shaved door handles
P.S. My drawings are copyrighted. Please do not plagiarize my stuff! You may right-click-save-as, but by all means give credit to whom credit is due. Thanks for your respect.

I like the duals. They complete the look and they resonate each other. The soundwaves resonating together pretty much cancel each other out at high rpm. It's got a nice deep tone upon acceleration but at high rpm highway speeds it quiets down... until i let go of the gas pedal and slow down, then I hear them again. It's really great!
Plus, ever since I started the Black Widow rear bumper on the 3gee, everybody's copying/doing them too. So with this unique bumper I designed, the duals can still be retained.

Just wanna know why you have been driving your car around in primer for well more then a year? Brings a tear to my eye just to think about fixing any damaged caused by it....
A flush mounted rear is gonna make it look ass-less,,,lol wait, I think that might actually look good that way..
Agree about the Black Widow rear bumpers, that's why I choose not to go with it, they are all too big in the ass and bulky looking, reminds me of a step on the back of a car..
projector headlights would look killer, been thinking about that myself

Well, I rarely driven the car... until it's complete that is. Situations also keep coming up that prevent me from being able to paint it. Mostly financial. Also the fact that I have other cars that I drive and hook up too. The 3gee isn't my only modified car, my Civic is also...which I post about alot in another forum.
I also don't see what you mean by "damage" from primer. I put primer on to protect it from the elements, not the other way around. It's epoxy primer and it's really tough. Does a much greater job of sealing the body unlike acrylic lacquer rattle can primer.
I like a flush mounted rear simply because the rear of this car is long as it is. If you look at the car from the side, you'll see what I mean. A flush mounted rear also gives it that modern look like some of the newer cars like the Acura TSX, Infinity G35, and Nissan 350z to name a few. I like cars with no overhangs. Gone are the days of black rubber side trim and protruding bumpers. Gotta keep up with the times...

"Damage" caused by leaving it in only primer and driving it around, I understand you are using a high solids epoxy primer with an activator, but it does scratch fairly easy. It's not a laquer or clear coat, it's good protection to seal everything for the time being. Basically what I was getting at it's gonna take more time to re-sand then re-prime the car when you are ready for paint. Paint job is only be as good as the base you provide for it...
