ok couldn't find it. bs or bt?

spark plugs from autozone... for the bs or the bt? i think i remember reading somewhere that my car is a bs but i'm not for sure and i don't want to waste any money or time... please don't flame unless you feel completely necessary. been on this site for about 4 hours today cruising aruond looking for the thread i'm thinking of and can't find it.
any help is awesome

on usdm 3gees in 1986 the engine codes were BT for fuel injected engines which were later renamed to the A20A3 and the BS was the carbed engine that was later renamed to the A20A1

well according to the autozone in store computer there is a choice between bt and bs and the plugs have different p/n's. the plugs have the same thread length by visual side by side and from any info i could find have the same gap (the internets and hayne's/chilton's have the same gap) but the damned plug wires won't fit over the electrode... the old plugs i pulled were skinnier all around... went from a small plug socket to the larger one but they thread fine in the port and all... new wires? didn't think there would be a difference from carb to efi. but like i said i'm new to the honda game and i know they are "fine-tuned" machina and wasn't sure if there was such a sensitive mixture that the spark would blow out because the threads are the same length but the diode stops about l-l that much. teensy bit.

wouldnt the spark plugs just have to do with the head and not the block?

bs/bt were the names of the a20a1 and a20a3 in 1986.. that is all

dont see why they would have different spark plugs

they dont have different plugs i've put them around on a couple heads.
boy that would suck if they where different. i've got 86-87 heads with 88-89 intakes/exhausts and the plugs from the 88 it came from

the only difference i can really tell is the plug boots won't fit over the plugs for the bs. the boot is too small in diameter. thread pitch is the same and length and all... but the size of the plug is bigger as far as diamter of the electrode...

new plug wires and newer plugs will fit

the plug is exactly the same i have the original ngk tech book here and there's no difference .

well i bought the platinum 2's and i'll tell you right now that the plug is too fat for the wire. maybe NGK is the same because it;s one company and they use one plug for the entire accord app... :O

just use the ngk v power plugs, the engine was designed for em,they are the best plug for it. sometimes the new more complicated plugs are overkill for these old engines. i've been running ngk v powers in honda engines since the late eighties, still the best plug for the job. when we got the 98 it was running rough,it had those bosch platnium plugs in it, they were gapped right and everything, wires were good etc. pulled them and put in v powers,and they've been fine ever since.

yeah fours are the same as twos in my experience... but i went and traded in the plugs for the ngk v power's... got home and it turns out they are the same part number that was listed on the hood and the plug wires are still too small for the electrode. and before someone else says buy new wires, i already did. they are on back order until the 14th-ish and will be shipped. taylor wires 8MM...

while i'm on the subject, do any companies make a plug-n-play performance dist.? just wondering...
