Completed 3geez network map

Here it is guys--thanks to bobafett for hosting.

What you're seeing is a map of 3geezers who have met each other, loosely depicted by geographic location. I used the info from the thread I created as well as the stickied thread in the 'let's meet section' where people were asked to post (last year) those 3geezers that they had met. Took a little while to get all the info inputed and sorted (since the program i'm using is capital senstive which makes life difficult), but it's all done. Just have to write a 10-15 page paper about it now.....

This map demonstrates the power laws in effect in this sort of network. That means ties between people are not random but instead are grouped around 'hubs'--members who have many more connection and serve as connecting points to other groups from across the US.

Anyhow, thought people would find this interesting. This is only about 180 of our members, though most of the active/old-balls members are included.

I still have to start writing the paper...it's due between monday and wed. of next week.

The reason some of that date is skewed about people knowing each other is because Halxi was the one of only a couple from CO that posted up people he'd met. It's not a perfect system, but it gets the point across.

only problem i see, in the 'colorado' area (center, black dots) bullard123 and pikespeak3g are in there twice. Other then that, everything looks good

..... not really, but that would be pretty cool i suppose

You already are! Everyone who is on that map is a node. To become a hub, however, you need to meet more people and/or meet someone from a different group and create a link there.

Your browser is scaling it. If it is Internet Explorer, when you mouse over it if you let your mouse sit for a sec you should get a little toolbar in the upper left and a box in the lower right. Click the lower-right box. If you don't get them, click Tools, Options, Advanced tab then under Multimedia checkmark Show Image Download Placeholders.

If Firefox, mouse over it and the cursor should become a magnifing glass with a + in it. Left click and it will become full size.
